Prayer for our country on its Independence Day.

God of all nations, we thank you on this Independence Day for the gift of our country, for the freedom it has given us, and for the blessings we have received. We recall the day our nation was born, and we give you praise for what has been achieved. We also acknowledge the work that still remains and ask for your help and guidance. May our nation be united in love and service, and may justice and peace prevail. We pray for our leaders, that they may be guided by wisdom and compassion. We pray for our citizens, that they may be loyal to both our country and to you. Protect our nation from all harm and adversity. May we always remember to give thanks for the freedom we have been given and use it wisely. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen

March 9 is the First Sunday of Lent. Remember that during the season of Lent this year, Sunday morning worship will be at 9:30 in the sanctuary so Cornerstone can worship in the sanctuary at 10:45.
