Monday in the Second Week of Lent

Let your Spirit, O Lord, come into the midst of us to wash us with the pure water of repentance, and prepare us to be always a living sacrifice to you; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Monday in the First Week of Lent

Almighty and everlasting God, mercifully increase in us your gifts of holy discipline, in almsgiving, prayer, and fasting; that our lives may be directed to the fulfilling of your most gracious will; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Today was a holy and joyful day for Grace Episcopal Church!

We give thanks to God as our very own Jory Mertens was ordained to the Sacred Order of Deacons in Christ’s one holy catholic and apostolic Church.

Jory, your Grace family is so proud of you. We have prayed for you, walked alongside you, and witnessed your faithful “yes” to God’s call. Today that call was affirmed in a beautiful and sacred way.

As a deacon, you are called to be a bridge between the Church and the world — proclaiming the Gospel, serving those in need, and reminding all of us of Christ’s heart for justice and mercy. We are grateful that we get to share in this ministry with you.

Please join us in praying for Deacon Jory as he begins this new chapter of ordained ministry. May the Holy Spirit strengthen him, guide him, and fill him with joy.

Congratulations, Deacon Jory! We love you and give thanks for you.
