"Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working." - James 5:16
The need for community and accountability in the body of christ is great, not only as a collective but in our own personal lives as well. We need that righteous counsel so that we can be continually directed and encouraged. We should also strive to be that righteous counsel and to pray boldly and faithfully for eachother.

"He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live in righteousness, By his wounds you have been healed." - 1 Peter 2:24
Christ loved us enough to take our punishment and offer a way out of our sin. He has given us the opportunity to draw close to him and die to the thing that would separate us from him. Through him we are forgiven and receive a new life and through him we have hope for righteousness.

"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems you from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy" - Psalms 103: 1-4
The Lord has been so good to us, even when we were against him. His mercy is unmatched and is worthy of all our praise. Don't forget what the Lord has done for you, bless the Lord!

Proud does not even begin to describe the feeling we have for our graduates this year! We are so excited to see what these great young men and women do next and where God leads them! We pray that they continue to follow in all they have been taught and that their relationship and understanding in the Lord grows even stronger.

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!" 2 Corinthians 5:17
We love getting to be part of peoples decision to follow Christ. We got to celebrate with 3 men on Sunday who chose to be baptized and publicly commit themselves to christ, and burry the old man!

"See, the enemy is puffed up; his desires are not upright, but the righteous person will live by his faithfulness."- Habakkuk 2:4
Set your faith in God, not on the things of this world. The Lord will renew a righteousness within you when you live in faithfulness to him.

"And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, "Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins."- Matthew 26:27-28
Jesus fulfilled the old covenant and created a new one with us through his sacrifice on the cross. No longer do we hope in a future savior but in one who has conquered death and has given us a path to God the Father. Rejoice in his mercy and in the work of salvation that he completed!

"Look among the nations and see; wonder and be astounded. For I am doing a work in your days that you would not believe if told."- Habakkuk 1:5
This is the Lords response to Habakkuk when he cried out about the wickedness of his nation. We tend to look at this verse and think that God is going to make everything nice and pretty and take away all the bad things around us, but the work that he is doing here is correction. He was raising up the Chaldeans to seize control and take them captive. God recognized that this is what was needed for the nation to return to him, and it was still a good work, even though it was hard and painful. God knows what we need, even when we don't. What we think we want, and what we ask for, might not be whats best for us. Sometimes we need correction instead of relief.
God is always in control. Trust in the work that he is doing and seek him with all your heart.

"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house."- Matthew 5:14-15
We are all lamps. When we accept the salvation of Christ the fire of the Holy Spirit is lit inside us and lights up the darkness in our lives and in those around us. Lamps work best when they are transparent, not tinted or dirty. We are called to shine the light of God un-tinted by personal bias, belief or expectation. We have to have the dirt and dust of inactivity and apathy cleaned and the soot from the burning of dirty fuel, that was our sinful life, wiped away so that the clean fire of God can shine to all who need it. Is your lamp transparent? Is your fuel clean?
