Thoughts from a Bi-Vocational Pastor #10:

As I look across the shop at all these vehicles, each one of them at a different level of disrepair, I realize that each one of them is going to take a different amount of time, different parts of pieces, and a different level of effort to put them back together. The same goes for all of us. When you look at the lives of the people in your church, or even that you meet on a daily basis, none of them are perfect, all of them most likely need some repair. Each one of them is probably going to need different things added, or taken away from their life to fix them, and each one of them is probably going to take a different amount of time for all things to come together. I tell you this, because the thing that I think they need from us more than anything else is a little grace and mercy. We are so quick, to point out everybody else’s shortcomings and issues, forgetting that we have our own. So, just like God has shown us grace and mercy, we oughta show them some grace and mercy. I mean, if we’re trying to be like Christ, then we ought to at least give them as much grace and mercy as He’s given us. I’m not talking about justifying sin, covering up an issue, or ignoring wrongdoing. I’m just talking about giving God an opportunity to move in their lives. Only he can fix, transform, shape, and mold their lives. So, we ought to give Him an opportunity to work in their lives! None of us would be good without Jesus and His grace and mercy in us, so how about we show other folks a little grace and mercy while the Lord does what He does. In the meantime, Don’t shun them, love them. Don’t pick on them, pray for them. Don’t put them down, lift them up. Don’t expose them, encourage them, & watch God make something beautiful out of them! Thank you Lord for your transforming power! If you believe that say AMEN!

Thoughts from a Bi-Vocational Pastor #9:

So today, I was putting this passenger side floor mat back into this Dodge ram. After trying to put it over on the driver side, seeing that it doesn’t fit there, I realized there’s only one place that it would fit and that’s on the passenger side. I could’ve forced it into the driver side, but it really would’ve never fit. It only fits on the passenger side. Those mats look pretty similar, but they still only fit in one spot. Driver side on the driver side, and the passenger side on the passenger side. This reminded me that there is a place in our hearts and lives that only Jesus fits. We try to force a lot of things into that spot, but they don’t at all fit. We try to fill it with leisure activities, drugs and alcohol, shopping or fashion, other expensive toys, we even try to fill it with religion. You see that religion thing, kinda looks similar, but it’s still isn’t Jesus. The only thing that your heart was made to house was the Lamb of God! My advice to you would be realign your priorities, reevaluate your pursuit, reassess your desires, and let Jesus in. You can keep running around, wearing yourself out, trying to find something to fit into that spot, but at the end of it all you’re gonna figure out that only Jesus can complete your life, only Jesus can satisfy your longings, only Jesus fills your emptiness, only JESUS FITS! He loves you and has a plan for you, put Him where He belongs and watch the good things He does in your life! If you believe that say AMEN! (Like and Share)

Thoughts from a Bi-Vocational Pastor #8

This is the place I work and some of the people I work with as a bi-vocational pastor. Would I like to pastor full time, sure! However, it’s just not possible at this time. Sure, I could be upset about that, but honestly how can I be upset about the provision of the Lord! I believe in giving me this job, God is reminding me the Church may not be able to meet your needs, but I can!! Sometimes we are looking to the wrong sources for provision, but God is absolutely my source! I know sometimes we can also take God’s provision for granted or even under appreciate it because it doesn’t fit our expectations, but it’s God’s provision and we ought to be thankful for it! Let me also add, our attitude about God’s provision sometimes determines how quick we move to a new place of provision (just ask the Israelites). Not only did God provide for me, but gave me a bonus blessing in the process. For those who read this who don’t know me well, those 2 fellers with me are my sons. Not only did God provide for me, but also made a way for me to work with my boys! I leave you with this, God is your provision, trust Him and 2, When God does provide it’s beyond all that we can ask and think!! If you believe that, shout AMEN! (Like and Share)

Thoughts from a Bi-Vocational Pastor #7:

One of the other things that I do around our shop, is the yardwork. We have been so busy trying to take care of all the hail damage cars from the storm we got earlier this year, that I haven’t had a chance to get the shop yard taken care of like it’s supposed to be. I was walking from the back of our shop to the front of our shop down the alley beside our shop, and got this wonderful surprise. I didn’t even know these purple flowers were here, but since I haven’t had a chance to w**d eat along this fence, they popped up. Seeing these flowers, caused me to think about our own lives, storms, w**ds, and personal messes and how we are so quick to react to them. We are so quick too get upset about situations that don’t seem right, storms that come in and blow things about in our lives, circumstances that don’t feel so favorable to our success that we just start trying to mow it all down. Sometimes, however, we need to realize that there’s a purpose to it. If we just wait on God, if we just exercise a little patience, if we just extend a little trust in God’s direction. You never know what kind of blessing He’s trying to send our direction. What you thought was hard, ugly, and out of control. God is gonna use to bloom a few flowers. Wait, watch and see what God does in your life! Remember He’s a God that can bring beauty from ashes! A God that can take what looks like is going to kill you, and use it to give you life and liberty! Love ya, Like and Share if you think this can help somebody else! If you believe this SHOUT AMEN!!
