In Luke 10:38-42 we read about Jesus with Martha and Mary.

Mary was at Jesus feet hearing his word and learning. While Martha was too distracted and busy running around with a bunch of things to do trying to please him.

Don't be a Martha and allow distractions to keep you from sitting with Jesus and learning. The devil's biggest distraction today is the same it's always been; keeping people too busy to spend time with Jesus.

Here's your reminder for the day. Slow down and sit with Jesus today. Trust me, Jesus really just wants to spend time with you without all the distractions.

What God says about what the world is calling pride month. Just because the world screams it's okay does not mean God agrees. Do not be confused for pride commeth before the fall.

Rom 1:24-32 KJV 24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. 26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: 27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. 28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

I heard something recently that really made me think. How fast do you think people's lives would change, if we all treated our Bibles the way we do our phones? People are on their phones constantly, when going to the bathroom there's their phone. When eating dinner a lot of people are looking at their phones. People use them to listen to music but what if instead you were listening to the Bible being read to you?

It reminded me of a story I heard years ago about a guy (sadly I can't remember his name) but a minister possibly from Africa that came here to the states a long time ago, back in the 40s I think. Anyways, at home he was getting massive results with evidence of miracles. Tons of healings had been done and he had even seen several raised from the dead. He was scheduled to stay in the United States for several months doing ministry work. When he got off the boat at the New York port, he walked around the city for just a little bit then made his way back to the port, got on a boat and went back home. When asked why he did not stay, he answered boldly and simply "those people are just too busy, they have too much going on and they are too distracted to allow God to be in control of their lives."

So it's a simple question I ask. What's keeping you so busy, so distracted that you can't be in your Bible? At the same time, it's a challenge to you. Instead of grabbing your phone every time you're bored, grab your Bible instead. Instead of doing what my daughter likes to call "doom scrolling" by watching videos and being distracted. How about you spend that time reading the word of God?

Stop being distracted Christians, allow God to speak to you through his word. Don't be so busy that when your miracle comes you can't receive it because you are simply too busy to spend time with God, your father who loves you more than anyone. Put your phones down and get back to the roots! Spend time in the word of God.
