Oakland Heights Baptist Church Know. Grow. Go. Knowing, Loving and Proclaiming Jesus Christ . . that's what OHBC is all about. As the body of Christ we are to do the work of the Lord.

It is our desire to help people come to know Jesus Christ, to fall passionately in love with Him, and train them to tell others about Him. Simply put, "The work of the Lord is the work the Lord was doing when the Lord was working." It's the work He describes in His prayer to the Father in John 17. It's Knowing, Loving and Proclaiming Jesus Christ.

We saw from John 6 last week that some sayings are hard to hear, and even harder to believe. Following Christ is costly and contrary to our flesh, but He has such grace for us.

There is no one else more worthy of following! Only Jesus Christ has the words of eternal life 🤍

God’s grace is for all people, of all ages, backgrounds, circumstances, etc. It is by grace, through faith, that we are saved (Ephesians 2:8)🙌

Through Christ’s sacrifice, God the Father made the way for us to have a personal relationship with Him. He desires for every one to continually walk with Him and talk with Him. The joy and purpose Jesus gives is eternal and continues no matter our circumstances. Does your personal prayer and giving of thanks reflect that?

We saw last week from John 6:1-15 that our expectations don’t exactly align with truth and with the way God works. He does far beyond what we expect, in ways we don’t always expect. In doing so, He can also try and grow our faith in Him 🙌
