Living on the Edge of Eternity
Eternity will Change Everything
Revelation 21:1-8

“Eternity” can be described as “endless existence”. It is not merely a very long time. It is existence that is outside the limits of time itself.

[Revelation 21] is both the end and the beginning. It is the end of this world and this time, and it is the beginning of the world that is to come, and a time that will never end.

1) Eternity will Involve the Reversal of History

Revelation 21:1. The opening of the Bible connects with the closing of the Bible.

The Story of the First Creation

The State of the Final Creation.

What sin ruined in the first creation, the Savior will right in the final creation! Paradise lost will be paradise regained!

2) Eternity will Confirm the Joy of Heaven

Revelation 21:2-7

The Presence that will Make Heaven

Revelation 21:3

The Absence that will Mark Heaven

Revelation 21:4

If the Presence of Jesus will make heaven for us, it is the absence of some other things that will distinguish heaven from the life we’ve known on this earth.

3) Eternity will Unveil the Truth of Hell

Revelation 21:8

Hell is a Place for the Unrepented

“Hell is full of people who do not want to be there, but who still do not want to bend the knee. For all eternity they still hate God. They still despise the cross. They still nurture sin; they still hate others in this endless cycle of self-chosen sin, iniquity, thanklessness, idolatry, and their consequences.” (D.A. Carson)

these people will hate the fire of hell, but they will also hate the Father in heaven.

Those who have their part in the lake of fire in eternity are those who love their sin more than they would ever love a God who was willing to save them from it.

Hell is a Place for the Unregenerate

This describes a person who has never been born again.

The prospect of eternity will either strengthen our faith, or it will stir up our fears.

Dear Heavenly Father,
As I come before You today, filled with awe and reverence, I ask for forgiveness for times I've spoken hastily or carelessly in Your presence. Teach me to approach You with humility, weighing my words and speaking from a place of sincerity and truth. Help me to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and always eager to honor You. May my words be few, but deeply felt, and may my heart always reflect Your grace and love.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
“Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.”
Ecclesiastes 5:2

05/27/2026

Dear Lord,
My soul longs for some quiet time with You. Help me find moments of stillness and surrender my worries at Your feet. Guide me to those peaceful places where my spirit can rest.
Deep down, I trust in Your perfect plan for me, even when the path seems uncertain. Lead me to that place of rest and renewal, where I can truly recharge. Thank you for being my Shepherd and for always knowing what's best for me.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
“He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters.”
Psalm 23:2

05/27/2026

Dear Father,

Sometimes I cling to burdens You never asked me to hold—the need to perfect, control, or force outcomes. Forgive me for complicating surrender when You ask only for my heart.
I love You—not because You fix everything, but because You are everything. Thank You for being my anchor in chaos, my peace in uncertainty. Teach me to walk humbly, not in my strength, but in the quiet confidence of Your faithfulness.
Turn my striving into stillness, my pride into praise. Let my life echo one truth: You are enough.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
“Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.”
James 4:10

Living in Light of Eternity
The Judgment that will Change Everything
2 Corinthians 5:10; Romans 14:10; 1 Corinthians 3:9-15

You ought to live every day in light of Eternity!

Every Christian undergoes 3 types of judgment
1. In the past, we were judged as a Sinner.
2. In the present, we are being judged as a Son.
3. In the future, we are going to be judged as a Servant.

The Judgment Seat of Christ will be a reminder of what Jesus really meant to you while you lived on this earth.

What will happen at the Judgment Seat of Christ?

1) Our Lives will be Reviewed

2 Corinthians 5:10

The Purpose of Christ’s Judgment Seat is to judge; to evaluate every Christian for the way they lived their Christian life. It is a time to examine the quality of their service.

Your life will be presented as...
"gold" - represents the Power of the Holy Spirit
"silver" - represents the Price of Sacrifice
"precious stones" - represents the Promise of Stability

"wood" - represents Careless service
"hay" - represents Worthless service
"stubble" - represents Selfish service

Good works do not carry you to heaven, but good works will follow you to Heaven.

“He will test everything not on the basis of what it looks like, but what it’s made of. He will evaluate (why) we did what we did.” (Dr. Tony Evans)

What will happen at the Judgment Seat of Christ?

2) Our Labor will be Rewarded

1 Corinthians 3:8; Revelation 14:13; Luke 12:48

Our Reward is not going to be determined on just “what we did”. Our reward is going to be determined by “what we did” COMPARED to “What we could have done.”

We have not been put here to “work for God”, we have been put here to work with God! We cannot do God’s work without Him. But God cannot do His work without His people.

What will happen at the Judgment Seat of Christ?

3) Our Loss will be Regretted

1 Corinthians 3:15

God is not asking you to be the best; He wants you to do your best.

Daniel Webster was once asked, "What is the most important thought you ever entertained?" He replied, after a moment's reflection, "The most important thought I ever had was my individual responsibility to God."
