This Sunday 6/2, Forester United Methodist Church, which I served as pastor (2007-2015) will have its last service at 10:45 am followed by a potluck lunch. I’m sure everyone will be welcome and it will be a great reunion with lots of fond memories shared.
For more than 150 years people have banded together to be the church in this rural part of Michigan near Lake Huron. They have faithfully worshipped God, and through the power of the Holy Spirit to served the mission of Jesus Christ. Through its many activities and dedicated parishioners, this small church has provided refuge and comfort, community and witness, life lessons and spiritual growth. I was just one of many pastors who had the privilege of serving here.
Its purpose is now accomplished and it is time to disband. As the congregation scatters into other congregations may all be one in Christ, one with each other, and one in ministry to all the world.
Note: This photo was taken many years ago. I’m not the pastor today and will simple be attending. I look forward to seeing some familiar faces on Sunday and visiting over lunch!
