Christian Science presents the essence of what Jesus Christ taught and practiced as recorded in the Holy Bible. "Jesus of Nazareth was the most scientific man that ever trod the globe," writes Mary Baker Eddy in Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Mass., was founded in 1879, and our Carson City Church is one of its world-wide branches.
Christian Scientists study daily a common weekly Bible Lesson which is then read as the same sermon during Sunday services in The Mother Church and all of its branch churches. It is available to anyone by subscription, and a digital edition is offered online.
"Spirit" is the Bible Lesson-Sermon subject for the week ending Sunday February 8, 2026. The Golden Text is from the book of Galatians, Chapter 5, Verse 25, from the King James Version of The Holy Bible.

The Mother Church in Boston regularly conducts Sunday morning services and Wednesday testimony meetings live online accessible to all. Sunday services begin at 10:00 am Eastern Time (7:00 am Pacific Time), and recordings are available to replay until the following Sunday. Wednesday meetings begin at 2:00 pm Eastern Time (11:00 am Pacific Time), and those recordings can be replayed until Friday morning.
