Mary's Malankara Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church of Dallas is under the leadership of the Patriarch of Antioch and the Archbishop of North America appointed by the Throne of Antioch. The Syriac Orthodox faithful that migrated from Kerala to the United States in the early 1970's and 1980's dreamed of building a place of worship and with prayer and countless financial contributions 13 families made
that vision a reality. By the prayers of our patron saint, leadership of Late Metropolitan Mor Athanasius Yeshue Samuel and guidance of Very.Rev.Fr. Jacobite Syriac Orthodox church faithful conducted its first service at the Crosby Recreation Center located in Carrollton, TX and later moved to a church building on Wycliff Ave, in Dallas TX. Mary's the parishioners were able to build the current church we see today at 2112 Old Denton Road Carrollton TX. What started as a dream from 13 families blossomed into a church close to 100 families and ever-growing! Mary's celebrated her first Holy Qurbana with the blessings and guidance of Late Lamented His Holiness Moran Mor Ignatius Zakka I Iwas, Prince Patriarch of Antioch and All the East. Members of our congregation include Malayalee families from various parts of Kerala who currently reside in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. On August 8th & 9th 2015 His Holiness The Patriarch Moran Mor Ignatius Aphrem II celebrated the Holy Qurbono here in honor of the 25th Silver Jubilee Celebration. The parish was the first and only Malayalee Parish to have the Patriarch come and celebrate the Holy Eucharist at that time. It was a great blessing to all Syriac Orthodox Faithful & well wishers who were able to witness the blessed occasion! We continue to pray for a Godly aspiration of meeting the challenges of leading a Christian life in this age, carrying forward the Holy and inspired traditions of the Syriac Orthodox Church and continuing a close fellowship in worshiping our Lord.
