What does Tetris have to do with following Jesus? 🎮👀

This Sunday, Pastor David continues our Practicing the Way series with a message about something most of us struggle with: “Hurry”

Our lives can get faster and faster until we’re moving so quickly that we miss what matters most. Hurry can get in the way of simply being with Jesus.

What do ADHD, dyslexia, a high school dropout, and Harvard have to do with following Jesus?

More than you might think.

Pastor David shared the story of Daniel Paris, who dropped out of high school after struggling with undiagnosed ADHD and dyslexia. Once he discovered that he simply learned differently, everything began to change. His journey eventually took him from getting his GED to graduating from Harvard.

It’s a pretty incredible story, but Pastor David used it to make an even bigger point.

Being invited to follow Jesus is a little like a high school dropout getting an acceptance letter to Harvard. We may look at ourselves and think, “Why me? I’m not qualified for this.”

But Jesus still says, “Come, follow me.”

You don’t have to have everything figured out. You don’t have to have the perfect story. The invitation is already there. ❤️

Such a special moment in worship this morning.

John David Tisinger read our scripture from Matthew 4:18–22 in Braille, sharing the story of Jesus calling His first disciples.

“Come, follow me,” Jesus said.

They left their nets and followed Him. It’s an invitation that Jesus still gives each of us today.

Thank you, John David, for sharing God’s Word with us this morning. We’re so thankful for the many people who help lead us in worship each Sunday. ❤️
