✨ Joy is more than just being happy. ✨

Today, we were thankful to welcome Rev. Ruth Perkins Lee, Executive Coordinator of CBF Georgia, to First Baptist Church.

She reminded us that life is not always easy. Social media can make it seem like everyone is happy and has everything figured out. But real joy is different.

Joy can be with us even when we are sad or going through hard times. In fact, hard times can help us understand joy in a deeper way.

The Bible reminds us that joy is not something we have by ourselves. Joy grows when we stay connected to Jesus, love one another, and support each other.

Jesus tells us to remain in Him, follow His teachings, and love one another so that His joy will live in us.

💛 Joy is not about having a perfect life. Joy is about having Jesus with us through every season.

Margaret did a great job reciting Galatians 5:22-23 from memory! 💚

The Fruit of the Spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

Don’t forget Pastor David’s Summer Scripture Challenge! Kids and youth who memorize Galatians 5:22-23 can recite it to one of our pastors and receive a $5 Butter’d Utter gift card. Adults can memorize Galatians 5:16-26 and earn one too!

This Sunday at 11:00 AM, we’ll continue our Fruit Stand sermon series and learn about the second fruit of the Spirit: joy.

We are excited to welcome guest speaker Ruth Perkins Lee from CBF Georgia.

Our Honduras mission team is on their way home! 🇭🇳❤️

This week was filled with serving, learning, building relationships, and sharing the love of Christ. From working alongside teachers to helping at the school, God has done amazing things through this team.

Thank you for praying for them throughout the week. As they travel home today, please continue to pray for safe travels and for the seeds that were planted to continue growing long after the trip is over.

We can’t wait to hear all the stories and celebrate what God has done! 🙌✈️

What a wonderful evening together! 🎶🍦

We had a great time singing some of our favorite hymns and enjoying fellowship at our Ice Cream Social. Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the night so special.

There’s nothing quite like gathering together in worship, laughter, and sweet treats. We loved spending the evening with our church family!
