Jesus noted that heaven is enacted in the midst of community. When we connect with one another for mutual support, care, and accountability, we encounter a bit of God's desired connect for all people. We uplift one another.

All are welcome at God's table in Rescue, Virginia!

Join us at 11:00 for our weekly Service of Word and Table! Pastor Ryan will preach a sermon entitled "A Voice Cries Out" on Isaiah 56:1, 6-8 and Matthew 15:21-28! Holy Communion is always part of our worship service, and everyone is welcome to stay for snacks in our fellowship hall after the service!

"But what comes out of the mouth proceeds from the heart, and this is what defiles. For out of the heart come evil intentions, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander. These are what defile a person, but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile." - Jesus in Matthew 15

And so we pray for God to guide us towards holiness in words and action:
Patient God,
it is what comes out of our mouths and the results of our actions which defiles us.
May our words and actions today and in the week ahead be reflections of the patient love you express to us.

Guide us through the power of
your Holy Spirit.
Amen.

We sang this hymn in worship last Sunday. A wonderful reminder that the God who made Earth and Heaven knows each of us, and is on our side! Thanks be to God!

Where and when do you encounter stillness in your soul?

"Be Still, My Soul" (no. 534 in The United Methodist Hymnal) is an 18th-century German hymn written by Katherine von Schlegel and translated by Jane Borthwick. The song invites us to focus less on our cares and more on the strong presence of God in our lives. Though the world around us changes, God's faithfulness remains.

It is a timeless message! 🙏

Join us this Sunday at 11:00 a.m. for our weekly Service of Word and Table! Pastor Ryan will preach on Genesis 37:1-4, 12-28.

Many years ago, we made the intentional decision as a congregation to have Holy Communion every Sunday as long as an ordained minister was available to us. We are blessed beyond measure to have Pastor Ryan join us in renewing this commitment! As one of the few United Methodist congregations offering weekly Communion, we welcome everyone to join us at the Table, to encounter the real presence of a God who loves us and draws us close to him!

Join us at Riverview this morning at 11am, to be fed by the preaching of the Gospel and the real presence of Jesus in Holy Communion! Fellowship with snacks will follow. We come not because the church invites us-- it's Christ, and he invites us to meet him here in Rescue!

Jesus said to them, "They need not go away; you give them something to eat." - Matthew 14:16

In this story, Jesus takes what little his disciples have to offer and makes it enough to feed thousands. In Christ, there is enough.

Pastor Ryan will be preaching on Matthew 13:31-33, 44-52, which records some of Jesus' shortest but most powerful parables, including the parable of the mustard seed! We will also answer Christ's standing invitation to meet him at his Table for Holy Communion!

Jesus noted that faith starts in the smallest ways before growing and expanding. 🌱
