Worth the read 👇🏼
The season of healing I’m in requires vulnerability and nakedness. It requires confrontation of the difficult things. It requires me to face the s*xual traumas of my past. It requires me to face the p**n addiction and s*xual fantasies of my mind. It requires me to uncover and uproot the lies spoken over myself for years and instead speak these truths.

I’m worthy of forgiveness
I’m worthy of mercy
I’m worthy of love
I’m worth it.
I’m worth Jesus.

Sadly, to humanity and even more heartbreakingly, to the vast majority of Christians, my journey doesn’t warrant these attributes of God. Thankfully, He sent His son to die for me and not humanity.

Jesus bled sin from His body. He was pierced with s*xual perversion. He was crowned with thorns of drugs and alcohol addictions. He was whipped with abortions. He was flogged and scourged with murder, r**e, and molestation. His flesh was ripped from his bloody and already tattered body…for me.

Praise God for the resurrection of that spotless yet ripped lamb. It’s because of the resurrection that I now worship a LION instead of that lamb. I remember the lamb in my moments of brokenness; I remember the lion that I was raised with as well.

You call me a sinner, but I’ve been redeemed.
You call me an addict, but I’ve been set free.
You call me an abuser, but I’ve been made whole.
You call me confused, but Jesus saved my soul.

Our reduction of creation to objects is a result of our lack of intimacy with our Creator. Once we know God, we’ll know His intent of creation. I’ve been guilty of it myself, and knowing I’ve reduced humans to a body part is a hard pill to swallow. Thankfully, freedom is possible and mercy is there for the journey! 🙌🏼

Over the past few years, I’ve (Chris) shared my past with those who I felt needed to hear it, or at events when asked to speak. Over the past couple weeks, God has been preparing me to expedite and embolden the sharing of my past because it’s HIS story of redemption and freedom - and His redemption and freedom is possible no matter what you’re going through!

NO MATTER WHAT; p**nography, homos*xuality, s*xual identity confusion, chronic ma********on, abuse, s*x addiction, lust, adultery, fornication, dark and perverse thoughts and actions; there’s truly nothing the mercies of God can’t reach. There’s truly nothing God’s freedom isn’t capable of breaking. For me, you could attach every single label written above to my life…my former life. I’ve encountered some pretty dark stuff. I’ve even been the one to initiate the perverse s*xual indecency. BUT praise God, His blood has washed me clean. The old has passed away, BEHOLD the new has come. Is it a journey? Oh yes. Much healing has to take place and is still taking place.

I do believe that God made man for woman and woman for man. I do believe that marriage is a biblical covenant for such. BUT my walk and journey through very hellacious things has given me a heart of compassion toward people in the LGBTQ community and others because I know what it’s like. I know what it’s like to have same-s*x attraction, to be attracted to both male and female, to not know what the heck I want lol. I know what it’s like to be bound to p**nography day in and day out, to “do the deed” multiple times a day. I know what it’s like to be s*xually abused from many people and then to inflict that same harm from a young age. I’ve tried for the better part of 25 years to manage the pain through s*xual comfort when it in turn caused more pain. No man, woman, image, or app can fill the void that ultimately only JESUS is the One to fill.

I was asked to share my testimony this past weekend at an event, and in reading this passage tonight I was reminded of a statement I made while speaking at this event: “the mercies of God are more powerful then anything you go through.”

2 Corinthians 1:3 - “Praise the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort.”

No matter what you are going though, the God of comfort is waiting to comfort you. No matter what decision you make, the Father of mercies is waiting to show mercy. This realization causes such humility - at least for me.

It has caused a deep humility.
It has caused an unrelenting feeling of love from the Father.
It has shown me that through all the mistakes and sinful decisions, He is waiting for me. He is waiting for you.
It has reminded me that the world can’t take away what only God can give, and what the world has to offer doesn’t compare to the truth God freely gives.

If you are walking through affliction, know that the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort is with you. He wants to comfort you. He wants to show you mercy.

You do not have to run to p**nography. You do not have to run to dating apps. You do not have to run to ma********on. You do not have to run to s*x. You do not have to run to Snapchat, Grindr, Tinder, Scruff, Instagram DMs, POF, etc. You do not have to run to lust. You do not have to run to hookups and prostitution, or strip clubs, or any other s*xually gratifying thing that is only going to satisfy your flesh for a limited time.

RUN to the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort. Run to Him!

His mercies are more powerful than anything you go through. ❤️

This is a problem.

Overcoming any addiction takes a lot of work and dedication, but if there’s one thing I have found…doing it alone is impossible. You need a community, and ultimately, you need God. Iron SLAP is your community, and we rely on God. I pray you know your life is more valuable to God then the addiction your facing, or the s*xuality you identify with. Your identity is in God and in that, there is GREAT freedom!! 🙌🏼💙

“Just a little bit won’t hurt me”

The amount of times I’ve told myself that ☝🏼 is ridiculous. The sad thing is that it’s soooo far from the truth. You’ve got to completely remove any window of temptation from your life even if the window is a small crack. All Satan needs is a crack to get you to fall. Restrict it COMPLETELY. Get rid of it. FLEE to be FREE! Cut off the serpent’s head!!

How often do you seek the Lord’s face? Not for your needs or freedom, but how often do you seek simply because you want to spend time with Jesus?

I know for me, this is an area I’m trying to get better in. We often pray to God when we need something, but we don’t pray to God just to commune with Him.

I’m sure you know this too.

So I want to urge you today to find some time to talk to God. Seek Him to simply have Him in your midst.

Not to ask for freedom.
Not to ask for help with your addiction.
Not to free you from lust and s*xual perversion.
Not to have a wife or husband.
Not to quit watching p**n.
Not to plead for a relationship.
Not to complain about your needs…but to authentically and whole-heatedly spend time with Jesus.

I promise you, you do that and things will work out for your good. Seek FIRST the Kingdom my friend… 💙🙏🏼
