Sister Marie Hesed, a SOLT (Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity) sister has had a dream for over 30 years to establish a place for missionaries, those in ministry and lay people to come to renew themselves. Sister Hesed’s own personal experience in missions (including 27 years with Missionaries of Charity and Blessed Mother Teresa) in India, Mexico, Cuba, Kenya and throughout the United S
tates prompted her dream and calling for this place of retreat, an Epicenter of Spirituality and the New Evangelization. After much discernment from Sister and the SOLT superiors, in 2011, that dream brought her and Domus Trinitatis to Willey, Iowa. Domus Trinitatis means Home Of The Trinity and will be a Contemplative Center of Renewal and Retreat. The Center is located near Willey, Iowa nestled amidst 30 acres of beautiful Iowa countryside, donated by a generous landowner. The plan is to build a Convent, a residence for priests, private hermitages, provide serenity through meditative spiritual walks, plant sustainable gardens and other applicable resources.
