As we begin a new month, may the “J” in June stand for Jesus.
Jesus in the waiting. Jesus in the healing. Jesus in the prayers whispered through tears. Jesus in the uncertainty. Jesus in the quiet moments nobody else sees. And when June doesn’t go the way you planned, may your heart still remember: His presence is enough. His grace is sufficient. And His faithfulness has never failed you.
On this first day of June, “J” also stands for St. Justin, whose memorial we celebrate today. The Church honors Saint Justin as a courageous witness to the truth and a model of steadfast devotion to Christ. May he intercede for us to remain faithful to Christ not only in June, but throughout the year ahead.

Most Holy Trinity
Today, we celebrate the mystery at the heart of our faith - the Most Holy Trinity: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Three Divine Persons, yet one God, united in perfect love, communion, and mission. My friends, our Gospel gives us one of the most beautiful verses in all of Scripture: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son…” (John 3:16).
The Holy Trinity is not a puzzle to be solved but a mystery of love to be lived. The Father loves, the Son is given, and the Holy Spirit fills our hearts with that same love. God is a communion of love, and we are created to share in it.
There is a simple story about a little girl who was asked, “What is the Holy Trinity?” She could not explain the theology, but she replied, “The Holy Trinity is when God keeps loving me in different ways.” Her answer was simple, yet profound. The Father created her, the Son saved her, and the Holy Spirit guided her every day.
In the Gospel, Jesus does not say that God sent His Son to condemn the world, but to save it. God’s first movement toward us is always love. Every sunrise, every act of forgiveness, every opportunity to begin again is a sign that the Trinity continues to embrace us.
May we always begin and end our days in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit—not only with our lips, but with lives that reflect their eternal love.

Today we remember St. Paul VI, the Pope who continued the work of the Second Vatican Council and encouraged the Church to proclaim the Gospel with renewed zeal and faithfulness. He reminded the faithful that the modern world still longs for Christ and that true renewal begins with holiness, prayer, and conversion of heart.
In today’s AI age, where everything is instant, loud, and endlessly consuming our attention, St. Paul VI reminds us that the human soul still longs for something deeper than entertainment. True joy is not created by technology. It is found in God. May we never lose silence, prayer, and our relationship with Christ in a world that constantly demands our attention.
May the witness of St. Paul VI inspire us to remain steadfast in our Catholic faith, even amid the challenges of the world today.

In the Gospel today, a blind man, Bartimeus, began to shout, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!” Many rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more. Jesus then asked the disciples to call him. Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you?” Bartimeus replied, “Rabbi, I want to see.”
In times of hardship, how persistent are we in calling on Jesus? Do we continue to call on Him no matter how discouraging the world around us is? Are we ready to throw off our cloak, jump to our feet and go to Jesus as Bartimeus did when Jesus called him? And ultimately, when Jesus asks us, are we ready to say what we want Him to do for us?

The Gospel presents a scene that feels surprisingly familiar. Jesus is walking toward Jerusalem. He knows suffering and sacrifice await Him. But what are the disciples discussing? Power. James and John approach Jesus and say: “Grant that in your glory we may sit one at your right and the other at your left.” In other words: “Lord, when You become successful, can we reserve the highest positions?” Does that sound familiar? People competing for position. People seeking recognition. People wanting influence.
Jesus responds with words that should be written in every office, every city hall, every government building, every senate hall, and perhaps even every church office: “Whoever wishes to be great among you shall be your servant” (Mark 10:43). Jesus completely turns leadership upside down.
In the world, greatness often means: How many people obey you. How many privileges you receive. How many cameras follow you. But for Jesus, greatness means: How many people become better because of you.
So today let us pray: Lord, raise up leaders for our country who seek service more than applause, integrity more than influence, and sacrifice more than privilege. And Lord, begin with us. Because the renewal of a nation begins not in Congress, but in converted hearts. Amen.

Tuesday teachings . . . . .
When a child hands their mother a thoughtfully-picked dandelion -- even though it's a w**d that most people try to rid their lawns of, it's one of the most beautiful things to her. I wonder if you can similarly look at your prayer intentions in this way as you ask the Blessed Mother for her intercession. Maybe what you're praying about feels like a "w**d" in one sense or another -- but when offered to our mother, maybe she loves to receive it. Maybe it's one of the most beautiful flowers to her. To be thought of, and given and entrusted this intention with hope and love.
Yesterday, the Church celebrated the feast of Mary, the Mother of the Church. Look to her as your mother too, an intercessor who always desires to bring you closer to her Son.
