Christian crowds are constantly saying in difficult moments "God has a plan."

You've heard it- when a young child is terminally ill, when someone loses a spouse, when a single mom struggles to support her kids, when racism causes tragedy. We've all heard it, and we've all been frustrated to hear it.

And yet the truth is- God does have a plan. One that you are intricately woven into. One that is relevant to you. One that is greater than you.

And we can actually find peace in knowing that even when nothing makes sense and all the answers make us angry- God knows His purpose and His plan for us. And in the grand scheme of forever-after, it's a lot better than anything we could ever plan or prioritize ourselves.

Grace and forgiveness. Something we often don't want to extend. Something we feel we have the right to give when we FEEL like it. Why don't we FEEL like showing grace and forgiveness? Because we've been hurt and we don't want to deal with the hurt. I mean really who does?? So we don't deal with the people because we don't want to deal with the pain. You may say "You don't know what they did. They don't deserve it." But I think there is a misunderstanding as to what grace and forgiveness is. It doesn't mean that you're saying what happened is okay. It means that we live in a fallen world and you may not realize just how much grace and forgiveness you've already received. Because all of us fall short. If you think you don't, then you should probably check that pride. So what hurt are you not wanting to deal with and in turn are not extending grace and forgiveness to that person? 💛

God wants us continually growing. It's just like if you put a plant in a small pot. At some point it will eventually stop growing because it's comfortable in its small pot. But if you uproot it from its comfortable surroundings, the plant will thrive. We should constantly be evaluating our lives to see if we are allowing ourselves to thrive or if we've sought comfort in complacency.

We live in a fallen world. Situations and people are going to hurt us. At times we're going to want to give in and just be consumed by the hurt. That's when we need to remember that God is with us. Always. We may not understand or agree. We may wonder why He lets things happen. Especially when they don't make sense. "You do not realize now what I am doing, but later you will understand"- John 13:7...It doesn't always give the immediate comfort that we're seeking, but that doesn't mean God loves us less and doesn't hurt when we hurt.
