Worship Sunday, August 2nd at the OUTDOOR CENTER & viz ZOOM

This Sunday it's all about God's beloved animals. But first.....
Q: Why did Noah have to discipline the chickens on the ark?
A: Because they were using fowl language!

Q: What animals on the ark were the most pessimistic?
A: The horses; they were always saying 'neigh'!

Q: What animal could Noah not trust on the ark?
A: The Cheetah!

Okay, Okay, I'll stop! But please don't let my corny jokes stop you from joining us at 9am this Sunday, August 2nd, at the Outdoor Center. This summer, our outdoor experiential worship services have been challenging us to Have a Heart For God; Have a Heart For God's Earth. This week we'll check out how Jesus utilized animals in his teaching. What do you think the animals have to teach us that will deepen our faith? Come find out; and I promise no more corny jokes! (It is communion Sunday so Zoomers be prepared at home with your own elements so you can join in.)

We will be gathering on the back side, outside on the deck overlooking the pond with this inspiring view of the mountain. If the weather intervenes, we will simply move inside! Bring sunscreen, sunglasses and a light jacket. This is also a great opportunity to invite a friend to do something a little different! Sugarloafers love a reason to enjoy a chill moment surrounded by the beauty of nature.

Just a reminder:
Our collection drive for July-August will be to support the
UMEM’s annual back-to-school program, aka “Backpacks and Sneakers”.
Items to donate are: backpacks (schoolbook-size, for boys and girls),
sneakers (sizes TBD), socks (girls and boys), underwear (girls and boys),
and school supplies (crayons, index cards, sticky notes, thick markers,
pocket folders). Once we know what specific sneaker sizes are needed,
we will include that in the August newsletter and weekly emails and
worship bulletins.
Please try to get your donations to the Chapel by August 11. You may
drop them off at the Chapel any time before then, or order items on-line
(Amazon, Walmart) and have them shipped to Sugarloaf Christian
Ministry, 5085 Access Road, Carrabassett Valley, ME 04947.

Sunday Worship July 26, 2026 - 9am at Outdoor Cener & via Zoom

A bunch of us Ministry folk just returned from a week of kingdom living at CFO camp in Plainfield, NH. What a time for growth and renewal! I've attended this retreat/advance experience since I was eighteen years old, and it never grows old. My body was definitely feeling older, though. We had a set of two-year old twin boys in attendance and just watching them made me feel tired! I still managed to catch one for a couple of snuggles!

I am looking forward to gathering again at 9am this Sunday, July 26th, at the Outdoor Center. This summer, our outdoor experiential worship services will challenge us to Have a Heart For God; Have a Heart For God's Earth. This week we'll be getting our hands dirty, digging in God's good earth as we ponder Jesus' parable of the 4 soils. We'll also be folding the August newsletter as our bonding activity.

We will be gathering on the back side, outside on the deck overlooking the pond with this inspiring view of the mountain. If the weather intervenes, we will simply move inside! Bring sunscreen, sunglasses and a light jacket. This is also a great opportunity to invite a friend to do something a little different - EITHER IN PERSON OR VIA ZOOM! Sugarloafers love a reason to enjoy a chill moment surrounded by the beauty of nature.

Sunday Worship July 19 - 9am at Outdoor Center and via Zoom
Growing season is short here in Maine. What are you growing in your garden these days? I don't just mean tomatoes or flowers; I'm talking about the garden of your heart. What's growing in there these days? Hope? Cynicism? Gratitude? Remember that what we sow, we reap.

We are looking forward to gathering again at 9am this Sunday, July 19th, at the Outdoor Center. This summer, our outdoor experiential worship services will challenge us to Have a Heart For God; Have a Heart For God's Earth. This week we'll ponder Jesus' mustard seed parable and how it speaks to our lives. July 12, 2026 Sunday Worship 9am at Sugarloaf Outdoor Center & via Zoom

What a great and jolly group we had last Sunday, joining together for worship. The weather was delightful and the people were sunny-just look at them! We are looking forward to gathering again at 9am this Sunday, July 12th, at the Outdoor Center. This summer, our outdoor experiential worship services will challenge us to Have a Heart For God; Have a Heart For God's Earth. This week we'll be diving into the importance of water in God's Word, our lives and nature itself. It's all connected! Bring your water bottle and come celebrate with us!

Following worship we'll be having a potluck brunch together. If you have a tidbit to share that's great, but definitely bring yourself and a friend!
