MY EVENING LESSON
TOPIC: SOMETIMES, WHAT FEELS LIKE LOSS IS ACTUALLY GOD MAKING ROOM FOR GROWTH...

There is a kind of pain that confuses us because it looks like failure but is actually preparation. There is a silence that feels like abandonment but is truly incubation. And there is a loss that feels like punishment but is in fact God’s invitation to grow deeper. Sometimes what feels like loss is actually God making room for growth. Not everyone who walks away was meant to stay. Some people were companions for a season, not covenant for a lifetime. Some relationships were ladders, not destinations. They helped you climb, but they were never meant to become your roof. There are friendships God allows to fade because they fed your past, not your future. There are voices God silences because they spoke comfort to your weakness, not courage to your calling. Some were part of the pruning, not the harvest. The tragedy of many of us is not that God prunes them, but that they try to keep what God is cutting. They cling to old leaves when God is preparing new fruit. They mourn what is falling while heaven is planting what will rise. The knife in the Gardener’s hand is not a weapon; it is an instrument of mercy. He cuts with knowledge. He removes with purpose. He wounds only to heal more deeply. Trust the Gardener; He knows where to cut and how deep to go. You may only see the wound; He already sees the fruit. You may feel exposed; He sees you positioned. You may feel reduced; He sees you refined. When God removes people, habits, opportunities, or even comfort, it is not always because they were sinful; sometimes it is because they were limiting. What He removes, He replaces with deeper roots, stronger faith, and fruit that lasts.

If this season feels quiet or smaller than before, do not rush it. A seed is not dead because it is buried; it is busy becoming. Winter is not the absence of life; it is the discipline of life. The farmer does not panic when the field looks empty; he knows what he planted. So also God does not panic over your present silence; He knows what He deposited in you. New life is already forming where the cut was made. The scar is not a sign of defeat; it is a doorway for new growth. God’s pruning is proof of His plans. He does not invest in what He intends to abandon. He does not cut what He plans to kill; He cuts what He plans to increase. When things fall apart, it is often because God is rearranging them. When people walk away, it is often because God is clearing space. When doors close, it is often because roots are being strengthened for doors you are not yet tall enough to enter. So do not curse the season of reduction. Do not resent the season of separation. Do not fear the season of silence. Each is a language of God. Each is a step in your becoming. The harvest you are praying for requires the pruning you are crying about. And the fruit that will bless many tomorrow is growing out of the cuts you feel today. So, lift your eyes from what was lost and look toward what is being formed. Thank God not only for what He gave, but also for what He took. For in His wisdom, removal is not rejection; it is redirection. Loss is not always tragedy; it is often theology. It is God preaching to you in the language of change: “I am making you ready for more.”

Trust God the Gardener, stay rooted, remain faithful, and when the fruit appears, you will understand why certain branches had to go.
