In this week’s Midweek Pep Talk, Father Deacon Andrew Kurzawski reflects on Matthew 6:34 and reminds us that even in difficult times, we are called to place our trust in the Lord.

So often we become consumed by worry about tomorrow, forgetting that God is already present in our struggles today. Christ calls us to trust Him, to remain faithful, and to take each day as it comes, knowing that He will provide the grace we need.

“Do not worry about tomorrow; tomorrow will take care of itself. Sufficient for a day is its own evil.” – Matthew 6:34

This photo was taken in 1964 at the Stamford Convention, where the Holy Trinity altar boys met Bishop Joseph Michael Schmondiuk.

Seated in the center is Bishop Schmondiuk. Standing at the right is Father Basil Makuch, then Rector of St. Josaphat Seminary. Directly behind the bishop is our cantor of blessed memory, Stephen Zinski, who served as a convention leader.

Now for the important question…

We’re looking for a few good altar boys to replace these guys. Unfortunately, most of them have grown up, gotten jobs, raised families, and some have even gone to their eternal reward. Their vestments probably don’t fit anymore anyway.

If you’re a young man looking to serve God, learn the beauty of the Divine Liturgy, and become part of a great tradition, we have a place for you at Holy Trinity!

This year’s theme, “Barefoot Saints: Emptying Ourselves So Christ May Fill Us,” challenges us to follow the example of St. John the Baptist: “He must increase, but I must decrease.” (John 3:30)

Come spend two days growing in faith, prayer, fellowship, and joyful community with other young people from across our Eparchy.

Calling all youth ages 12–18 from across the Eparchy of St. Josaphat!

Join us June 25–26 at YMCA Camp Kon-O-Kwee Spencer for 2026 Eparchial Youth Days as we gather for prayer, fellowship, fun, and a deeper encounter with Jesus Christ.

This year’s theme:

Led by Father Deacon Andrew Kurzawski, we will reflect on the words of St. John the Baptist:

☕️ The Midweek Pep Talk

Summer is here. The schedules slow down, the routines change, and we finally get some extra time.

The question is: What are we doing with the time God has given us?

Summer can be a season of rest, family, travel, and fun - but it can also become a season we simply waste away. As Christians, we are called to use our time wisely, growing closer to Christ, serving others, and becoming the people God created us to be.

This week, Father Deacon Andrew reflects on making the most of the gift of time and how we can ensure this summer helps us grow not only physically and mentally, but spiritually as well.
