A blessed sight to see: the Procession of the Blessed Sacrament through our parish and school campus on Corpus Christi Sunday.

Lo! the Angel’s Food is given
To the pilgrim who has striven;
See the children’s bread from heaven,
Which on dogs may not be spent.

Truth the ancient types fulfilling,
Isaac bound, a victim willing,
Paschal lamb, its lifeblood spilling,
Manna to the fathers sent.

Very bread, good shepherd, tend us,
Jesu, of your love befriend us,
You refresh us, you defend us,
Your eternal goodness send us
In the land of life to see.

You who all things can and know,
Who on earth such food bestow,
Grant us with your saints,
though lowest,
Where the heav’nly feast you show,
Fellow heirs and guests to be.
Amen. Alleluia.

This Sunday, June 7, we will celebrate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi. We will conclude the 10 am Mass with a Eucharistic procession around the parish and school campus. Please join us in this beautiful practice of publicly proclaiming the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist and claiming our campus for his glory.

The Solemnity of Corpus Christi invites us to ponder the real presence - a doctrine of the Church so profound that people throughout history have literally died to uphold it. While the doctrine of the real presence is no doubt undeniably mysterious, it is also as clear and as tangible as can be: Jesus Christ is present with us in the Eucharist just as he promised us he would be. Not just spiritually present, but fully. Truly. Physically. Really with us. And he isn’t just with us, he invites us to receive him and be transformed by him.

“Come, Holy Spirit.” 🔥🕊️ As Pentecost approaches, Fr. Colin invites us to reflect on the “more mysterious” Person of the Trinity: the Holy Spirit — the Spirit of the Father and the Son, alive and active in the Church today.

So where do we find the Holy Spirit?

As the Catechism of the Catholic Church explains:

“The Church, a communion living in the faith of the apostles which she transmits, is the place where we know the Holy Spirit: in the Scriptures he inspired; in the Tradition, to which the Church Fathers are always timely witnesses; in the Church’s Magisterium, which he assists; in the sacramental liturgy, through its words and symbols, in which the Holy Spirit puts us into communion with Christ; in prayer, wherein he intercedes for us; in the charisms and ministries by which the Church is built up; in the signs of apostolic and missionary life; in the witness of saints through whom he manifests his holiness and continues the work of salvation.” (CCC 688)

The Holy Spirit is not vague, distant, or absent. He is moving through our lives, and the life of the Church, guiding, sanctifying, convicting, healing, and drawing us deeper into communion with Christ.

As Pentecost approaches, may we invite and become more attentive to His presence.
