Today we celebrated the youth of Emmanuel. They were completely in charge of the service. Pastor Shane blessed the backpacks and bags of the students, teachers and administrators in attendance. The confirmation class was also recognized.
God is so good!!!

Confirmation Parents: I need to hear from you!

As we near the end of this year's Confirmation class, we'll be setting aside time during the Sunday School hour for one-on-one conversations with each confirmand and his or her parent(s). These will take place on Sunday, July 26 and Sunday, August 2 in my office.

These conversations are one of the parts of Confirmation I look forward to the most.

We'll spend a few minutes talking together about the gospel, faith in Jesus Christ, church membership, and any questions your confirmand may have. My hope is not simply that our young people complete a class, but that they understand what they believe, why they believe it, and what it means to follow Jesus Christ, personally.

If your family has a preference, please let me know whether July 26 or August 2 works best for you. If you've already told me, thank you! If not, a quick comment, message, text, or email would be greatly appreciated.

Please continue praying for our confirmands as they continue this journey. My prayer is that each one would grow in knowledge, faith, and love for Christ, and that these conversations would be an encouragement to the entire family.
