This Sunday, June 7th at St. Patrick’s there will be a breakfast after the mass over in the Parish Hall sponsored by our Youth. At the breakfast we will recognize the graduates as well as the first communion children. They will receive a gift from Fr. Gregory & the parishioners.

In addition, we will have our Prayer Partner Reveal at this breakfast as well.

“UP” Women’s Ministry at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church gathered together last night united in prayer. Our UP! ladies prayed the rosary over the grounds during a prayer walk & took a deep dive into the dangers of offense, gifts & fruits of the spirit, & prayed intercession for the sick. Thankful for fellowship & our “UP” nights.

Fr. Gregory Ogbenika hosted the East Deanery Priest meeting on Wednesday, May 13th at St. Patrick’s. He had Adoration first, then a meal was served in the parish hall, followed by a meeting.

Thank you to all the ladies who volunteered to make desserts & salads & to the five ladies who served & cleaned up.

The parishioners of St. Patrick’s & St. Polycarp’s send our sincere condolences to Jen and Clay McArthy & family on the passing of her grandfather, Wayne Smith, 99 of Geff, Illinois.

The visitation will be held this Thursday, May 14 at 11:00 am at Johnson & Vaughn Funeral Home in Fairfield until the time of the funeral services at 1:00 pm.

The parishioners of St. Patrick’s & St. Polycarp’s send our deepest condolences to the Burke family!

Surrounded by family, Ann (Karcher) Burke, 67 of McLeansboro went home to be with the Lord on May 5, 2026 after a short battle with cancer. She is survived by her husband, Don. A daughter Natalie (Dalton) Webb, her cherished grandson, Ira Webb and a son, Nicholas (Haley) Burke. She is also survived by her loving mother, Wilma Karcher. Her siblings Alan (Madonna) Karcher, Susan (Keith) Johnson, Mark (Irma) Karcher, Scott (Lorrie) Karcher & Lisa (Mark) Miller; her brother-in-law Lon (Barbara) Burke; sisters-in-law Sandy Burke & Jackie Burke, as well as many nieces, nephews, & cousins. She was also godparents to seven godchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 15th from 5-8 pm at Harre Funeral Home, McLeansboro. An additional visitation will be held Saturday, May 16th at 9:00 am at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Enfield followed by a Christian burial Mass at 10:00 am. Fellowship meal to follow at the Big Red Barn in McLeansboro. The family kindly requests No flowers or gifts. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of St. Benedict in Ferdinand, IN and will be accepted at the funeral home.
