Earlier this month at the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese’s Clergy-Laity Congress, Holy Trinity Cathedral was well represented during a session focused on strengthening young adult ministry across the Archdiocese.

Lenie Tsakonas, National Young Adult League (YAL) Board Chair and a member of our Holy Trinity community, co-led the session, while Eva Konstantakos, who also calls Holy Trinity home, served as moderator. Together, they introduced the newly developed Parish Ministry Guidelines and facilitated a conversation on supporting and growing young adult ministry in parishes across the country.

We are grateful for their service to the Church and pray this work will continue to strengthen young adult ministry in parishes throughout the Archdiocese.

Read more about their work in the press release below.

During a joint session of the 48th Biennial Clergy-Laity Congress and the 2026 National Young Adult League (YAL) Conference on July 2, National YAL leaders brought together clergy, lay leaders, and young adults for a collaborative discussion on strengthening parish young adult ministry while unveiling the newly revised Parish Ministry Young Adult League Guidelines, the first comprehensive update to the resource in more than twenty years.

The session, ”Building Stronger Young Adult Ministries,” was led by John Panos, Chair of the 2026 National YAL Conference, and Lenie Tsakonas, National Chair of the National YAL Board, and moderated by Eva Konstantakos, Director of Youth and Young Adult Ministries (Y2AM) for the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America.

Designed as both a practical workshop and a listening session, the program invited clergy, parish leaders, and young adults to engage in meaningful dialogue surrounding the realities of young adult ministry in their local communities. Participants shared parish-specific successes, challenges, and best practices while exploring practical strategies for cultivating thriving YAL ministries rooted in authentic relationships, communication, and parish engagement.

August Gyro Night is about more than sharing a delicious Greek meal, it's about honoring the legacy of one of our own.

A portion of proceeds from August Monthly Gyro Night will benefit the Toula Oberlies Creative Arts Fund, administered by the Indiana Blind Children's Foundation.

Toula was a beloved Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral parishioner whose passion for service, creativity, and community continues to inspire others. Established in her memory, the fund expands access to enriching creative arts experiences for students at the Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, supporting opportunities in visual arts, music, theater, dance, and more.

When you join us for dinner, you're helping carry forward Toula's legacy by opening doors for students to discover, create, and thrive through the arts.

Gyro Night online orders are now open through August 5. Dine in and carry out are also available between 5 and 7 pm on August 6. Gyro Night will donate at least 20% of their net proceeds to benefit Toula Oberlies Creative Arts Fund: https://htcindyevents.org/collections/a-la-cart

We hope you'll join us for an evening of great food, fellowship, and giving back.
