Have you ever felt alone in a crowded world? There are a lot of people that feel that way. We ask ourselves, “How can we get past that feeling?” Pastor Ken Schafer at Immanuel United Church of Christ in Carlyle will be looking at a scripture passage from Matthew 9 which tells of Jesus going to the home of a tax collector to commune with him and his friends. Jesus was criticized by the religious leaders for associating with them. True, these tax collectors weren’t perfect people but Jesus sensed a need in their lives—a need we all have, a need for relationships. What did Jesus tell them?
Come to worship with us this Sunday to hear more of the pastor's message, “The Cure for Spiritual Sickness”. Worship begins at 10am at the church, located at 1970 Clinton Street in Carlyle. The service is also available on the church's page. We will be observing Holy Communion this Sunday as well-all are welcome to join us.
Additional activities: Sunday mornings, 9am Bible study on the promise of Christ.
