St. Michael's by-the-Sea

St. Michael's by-the-Sea Experience the ancient Christian faith in Carlsbad Village. St. Sunday Mass is celebrated at 9:30am. Daily Morning and Evening Prayer are held online.

Michael's by-the-Sea is kind of a beachy version of the ancient Christian Faith and is rooted in the Anglo-Catholic tradition. Whether you’re in town for a week at the beach or a local pilgrim on a spiritual journey, you are welcome here! Daily Mass is Tuesday-Friday at 12:00pm and Saturday at 5:30pm inside the chapel.

Holy Week is upon us. Palm Sunday is this Sunday and to begin, the congregation (including children) will gather at the Celtic Cross and process inside with the Liturgy of the Palms.

The list of times for Holy Week liturgies is available at the online calendar. In addition to the Maundy Thursday service, you can keep watch with Our Lord at the Altar of Repose Thursday night. This sacred time of silent prayer in St. Michael’s historic chapel before the Blessed Sacrament is the sacramental equivalent to watching and praying with Our Lord on the night before he dies.

Lent is in full swing. Families recently decorated and took home their Mite Cans for this Lenten season. We hosted guests from Vida Joven de Mexico who shared how our donations are needed and used. And at the Pacake Supper: hair tinsel, Mardi Gras mask making, the annual pancake toss and lots of butter!
