The mixed multitude of people who came out of Egypt saw God's power and miracles, yet they allowed their "fear" to blind them and cause them to doubt God's promises, therefore, forfeiting their "divine destiny". Moses sent out 12 spies, but only Joshua and Caleb saw the land through "spiritual eyes" and said it was, "Flowing with milk and honey". Those who "feared the giants" died in the desert. Is it any different in our current culture?

God led His "mixed multitude" our of Egypt to see what was in their hearts....would they be "content" or "contentious"? God had provided "manna", "the bread of angels". Instead of being content and at peace with God's bread, they became contentious and caused chaos in the camp." They were craving "meat" (symbolic of our "fleshly" desires).

God heard their grumbling and sent a "west" wind. West is symbolic of Egypt or the world's system. The people ate so much of it that they began to "vomit it out their noses". It ultimately led to their death. Be careful what your "flesh craves"! It may not bring you the peace that you thought it would.

It's interesting to look at the word for "quail" and the word "peace". Both words have the same letters, except for the first letter for "peace" is a shin שׁ and the first letter for the word "quail" is "sin" שׂ

“QUAIL” - SALVIM - שׂלוִם - ROOT WORD MEANS: FAT, SLUGGISH

“PEACE” - SHALOM - שׁלוֹם - ROOT WORD MEANS: TO HARMONIZE, BRING BALANCE

This Saturday, Jewish people around the world are celebrating the "Feast of Shavuot". Most churches recognize this as "Pentacost"...which is the day that the "Holy Spirit" was poured out on the followers of Jesus or "Yeshua" (Hebrew.) There are many fascinating connections between Mt. Sinai and Mt. Zion.

God gives His children choices...called "free will". We have the freedom to choose to do things that "seem right" to us. However, we can forget to ask God, "What would YOU like me to do?" I have learned to "pray"...and then "wait" for His answer. The Father will respond with His wisdom. His ways are higher and wiser than ours. Jesus said,
"My sheep... hear my voice"! (John 10:27)

"Chag Pesach Sameach" which means, "Have a joyful Passover". It begins tonight at sunset and ends Thursday evening. Remember...."redemption isn't free....but it is offered "freely" by trusting in the blood of perfect sacrifice made by Yeshuah HaMashiach...Jesus the Messiah...the "Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world".
Jesus said to the Judeans, "If you had believed Moses, you would believe me for He wrote of me". John 6:47
Deuteronomy 18:18, Moses said the the people, "Adonai will raise up for you a prophet like me among yourselves, from your own people. I will put My Words in His mouth and He will tell them everything I command him".
