Pastor Scott begins a new sermon series THIS SUNDAY on the book of Deuteronomy! “Faithfully Forward: How to Thrive in New Opportunity” will begin with Israel on the threshold of a whole new chapter in their relationship with the LORD. They are about to enter the Promised Land! Moses, the man of God who had led them for the past 40 years, is not going to go with them. What is God’s Word to a people on such a journey into a new chapter? Come, join us for the amazing adventure of God’s revelation to his people on the threshold of change.

🌭🍋🤠 What a fun Sunday! Our 5th Sunday Lunch was filled with great food, sweet lemon shake-ups, corndogs, and even better company. We’re grateful for a church family that loves spending time together.

A huge thank you to Amy for teaching us some line dancing moves and getting everyone out on the floor!

This summer, we're publishing encouraging stories to help equip you for the work of ministry in your community! Read more here about what Abigail has to say: "Most children entering foster care don’t get the privilege of bringing any of their personal items with them when they enter foster care. Their stories are full of trauma, hardships, & heartache. We were able to care for & love these little ones.”

June 3, 2026 / by Abigail Waples In 2016-2018 while serving in our local church in Virginia, we had the privilege of meeting several families who were serving as foster parents. We quickly fell in love with all the little boys and girls they would bring to church each week. Their stories were full o...

📖 RECOMMENDED RESOURCE
See this note from Pastor Scott...

"Now that the preaching series on “Rightly Handling the Word of Truth” is over, would you like to go deeper in understanding more about interpreting the Bible?"

"One good option is to take the free course in Hermeneutics (a fancy word for “interpretation”) at biblicaltraining.org . It is available at the following link: https://www.biblicaltraining.org/learn/academy/nt310-hermeneutics

"You will get a free course at the college level on the subject. It will be a deeper dive into many of the issues associated with good Bible interpretation. Class notes are provided to download. You can listen or watch the lectures on your PC or on the available app. There are no papers or tests!"

"While you are at this website, feel free to look at all the other free courses that they offer in Biblical studies, theology, etc. There’s a lot to see, and there are programs at all levels of difficulty from new believer to seminary level."

"The nature of this website is general evangelical. You can find their statement of faith on the website. However, like any organization like this, not all of the teachers and courses would align doctrinally with East White Oak perfectly.”
