MUMC Family,

Our little pantry continues to speak a simple, beautiful truth: “Take what you need, give what you can.” Yesterday, we had the privilege of sharing some of your donations with a family of eight facing real financial and personal hardship. Your generosity became their hope.

Scripture reminds us, “Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have.” (Hebrews 13:16)

To keep serving families like theirs, we invite you to bring non‑perishable food items during these weeks. Every can, every box, every act of kindness helps us extend Christ’s love to our neighbors. Remember: "Love Boldly, Serve Joyfully, Lead Courageously."

Worship in the Park: This past Sunday, August 30th, our MUMC community gathered at the township park for a wonderful time of worship, old Christian hymns, and fellowship. Under the words of Micah 6:6-8, “What does the Lord require of you?” we finished our sermon series of “Love Boldly, Serve Joyfully, Lead Courageously.” After that, we enjoyed delicious homemade food, and we ended with games, laughter, and much more. Thanks to those who worked joyfully to make this possible, and to all of those who made this event a blessing to all.

“When a congregation prays for its pastor, the heavy burdens grow lighter, and the preached word falls like rain on fertile ground.”

This picture captures the experience MUMCS leadership had at the onboarding workshop held in our midst this past Sunday, August 16th, guided by Rev. Dr. Kathy Kind (DCM).

Onboarding is simply a guided conversation that the Conference offers to every full-time pastor and church. It’s a way of saying: “Let’s start well, let’s understand each other, and let’s build a strong foundation for the ministry God is calling us to share.” Keep the MUMCS leadership, congregation, and pastor in your constant prayers.

Today at MUMC: Last Sunday, we held the Blessing of the Backpacks and asked God to guide all our students, teachers, and education workers. From those beginning in Pre-K to those in college and university.

Today, we changed our church sign as a reminder to our community and to ourselves to keep praying for this new school year.

"Gracious God, as a new school year begins, bless our students with curiosity, our teachers with wisdom, and all educational workers with strength and joy. Guide every classroom with Your peace, and let Your light shine through all learning and growing. Amen."
