Most of us move through our days on autopilot.

We rush from task to task, conversation to conversation, often without realizing how much we're missing.

But throughout the Gospels, Jesus pays attention.

He notices the person at the edge of the crowd.
He notices hidden needs.
He notices what others overlook.

This week's spiritual practice is simple...

Before you enter a conversation, meeting, classroom, workplace, store, or your own home, pray:

"Jesus, help me notice what You notice."
Then pay attention.

Notice the person who seems discouraged.
Notice the beauty you usually rush past.
Notice where God may already be at work.

At the end of the day, reflect:
What did I notice today that I might have missed before?

Sometimes spiritual formation begins not with doing more, but with becoming more attentive to the life God has already placed in front of us.

A lot of love goes unnoticed because it doesn’t look dramatic.
I
t looks like staying in the conversation a little longer.
Checking in again. Showing up when there’s nothing impressive to post about afterward.

That kind of presence matters more than you think.

Jesus didn’t only love people in big public moments. He loved people personally, consistently, and up close. And a lot of the time, that same kind of love still looks ordinary.

Maybe this weekend faithfulness looks less like having the right words and more like being willing to stay present.

Sunday mornings, we gather around the table for breakfast and then worship. Your week hits different when you start here...

Following Jesus in a distracted culture can feel like trying to hear a whisper in a crowded room.

And maybe that’s closer to your experience than you’ve had words for.

Life is full. Not just busy—but full. Full of responsibilities, conversations, decisions, and constant noise asking for your attention.

And in the middle of all of that, it can feel difficult to recognize the quieter ways God is leading you.

Not because He’s absent. But because His voice is often quieter than everything else competing for your attention.

A pause you almost missed.
A conviction that lingered.
A moment you felt prompted to slow down or respond differently.
A sense of peace that didn’t match your circumstances.

The Holy Spirit often leads like that—through small, faithful nudges in the middle of ordinary life.

You don’t need a different life to hear Him.
You may just need space to notice what’s already there.

Where have you noticed God getting your attention in small ways lately?

It is exhausting to live like everything depends on you.

To feel pressure to always know what to do.
To keep everything together.
To have the right answer.
To move forward with certainty.

But the way of Jesus has never been about performing our way through life.
We believe the Holy Spirit still leads people today.

Through prayerful listening.
Through Scripture.
Through wisdom, conviction, peace, and daily guidance for the moments we find ourselves in.

You do not have to have everything figured out to faithfully follow God.

Sometimes the invitation is simply to slow down long enough to listen again.

Before you respond, decide, or rush ahead today—pause for 30 seconds and pray:

“Holy Spirit, lead me in this moment.”

You become what you pay attention to.
A simple reminder as you begin this week.
Most of us move through our days without noticing what is
shaping us.

The pace we keep.
The voices we carry.
The noise we rarely step away from.

And over time, our inner world begins to reflect what we give our attention to most.

But the way of Jesus invites us into something different.

Not faster.
Not louder.
But more attentive.

More aware of what is forming us.
More grounded in what is true.

This is why spiritual practices matter.

Prayer helps us return.
Scripture reorients us.
Silence creates space to hear again.
Gratitude softens what has grown tense within us.

Monday Practice:
Before you reach for your phone tomorrow morning, pause for two minutes.

Breathe.
Be still.
Ask God to help you notice what is true.

Mother’s Day can hold many different emotions at once.

For some, today is joyful—filled with gratitude, celebration, and the presence of people deeply loved.

For others, it carries grief.
The ache of someone missed.
A relationship that feels complicated.
Longing that remains unanswered.
Quiet faithfulness that often goes unseen.

We want to make space for all of it.
Wherever this day finds you, you are seen—right here, in your story.

God meets us in all of it:
in joy and sorrow,
in what is present,
and what is still being held.

And today, we offer this blessing:
May you know the nearness of God in whatever this day brings.
May you be met with gentleness where you feel weary.
May you find peace that does not depend on circumstance.
And may you rest in the quiet assurance that you are held in love.

You are not alone in this.
You are held in love today.
