Keep praying, one day an email could come from a loved one asking you to pray for them. Or Jesus could bring a believer into their life. Or sit next to someone on the plane who can tell them what the Holy Spirit has done in their life. It could be just the testimony to cause them to reconsider who God is.

We have no clue what is waiting around the corner. It is amazing how quickly a thought of doubt comes into our heads. The enemy wants to derail us. Prayer may be one of the hardest tasks in our daily schedule. Sigh! We can call upon the Holy Spirit in times of trouble!

Psalm 46:1-2, 5 — God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear though the earth gives way, though the mountains be moved into the heart of the sea, ... God is within her; she will not be moved. God will help her when morning dawns.

Sometimes the biggest prayer request for a church plant isn't about what's happening inside the church, but finding a place where the church can gather and go out into the community.

Michael and Sheri Wright are planting Abide Church in Dover, Delaware, and right now, they're asking God to provide a new place to call home.

Their current location has become increasingly difficult to use consistently on Sundays, so they're praying for a space they can lease or own that will allow Abide Church to keep growing and reaching their community.

Would you pray with them?

💙 Pray God will provide the right location at the right time.

💙 Pray for more deacons and elders to be raised up, equipped, and ready to serve and lead.

💙 Pray that Abide Church would grow deeper in dependence on God—learning to seek Him, trust Him, and wait on Him in all things.

💙 Pray for a greater burden and boldness to reach the lost in Dover.

💙 And pray that more of the people they are intentionally praying for and reaching would come to saving faith in Jesus.

A building would give them a place to gather.

But their greatest prayer is for more people to find a place in Christ.

Many of you have the ministry of intercession. You pray for other moms and their loved ones. Thank you! This is such a wonderful and needed ministry. We will not know until we see Jesus just how our prayers made a difference in a family's life.

Join us Wednesday, September 2, from 9:00–11:30 AM for a live DisciplesPath workshop with Ken Braddy, Lifeway’s Director of Group Ministry. This practical training will help churches evaluate their current discipleship pathway and develop a clear, intentional process for lifelong spiritual growth.

Ken will introduce the DisciplesPath framework and its four-step process—Discover, Discern, Design, and Deploy—and show how this completely free resource can help your church strengthen ministry alignment, measure discipleship growth, and intentionally guide people toward Christlikeness.

🎄 Christmas in August sounds a little strange… until you realize what you’re actually giving.

A box of supplies.

A note of encouragement.

Something a missionary needed but couldn’t easily afford in bulk.

And the reminder that someone knows their name, is praying for them, and wants to help them reach their community with the gospel.

Every year, WMU and the North American Mission Board partner to give churches, families, small groups and individuals a simple way to do exactly that.

You choose a missionary.
You see what they need.
You send it.
And you pray.

It might be supplies for an outreach event.
Resources for ministry.
Items they need week after week to serve their community.

These aren't random gifts.

They're practical ways to come alongside missionaries who are already on the ground, faithfully making Jesus known.

And here's the beautiful part:

Missions doesn't have to be complicated.

A family can do it.

A Sunday school class can do it.

A children's group can do it.

A whole church can do it.

This August, you can give a missionary something they actually need, and let them know they're not doing this alone.

Our annual Nevada Baptist Convention meeting is coming up October 12–13 at South Reno Baptist Church, and we can’t wait to gather together as a statewide family of churches!

We’ll begin Monday evening at 6:00 PM and continue with a full day of gathering on Tuesday, wrapping up around 4:00 PM. Our annual meeting is a special opportunity to come together, celebrate what God is doing across Nevada, encourage one another, share burdens, and seek God’s direction for the future of our convention.

REGISTRATION OPENS IN SEPTEMBER! Keep an eye out for the registration link and make plans to register your church’s messengers so your congregation can be represented and ready to vote on key decisions.

We look forward to worshiping, connecting, and moving Onward Together this October in Reno!
