Dear SFX Parishioners,

May has begun and we are continuing our practice of praying the Rosary together before weekend Masses throughout Mary's Month of May. The rosary will begin 1/2 hour before Mass time so if you want to join in praying this devotion, please plan to leave home in time and bring a rosary with.

Below I'm sharing a few words from an online resource entitled: The Little Rose Shop:

"The month of the Blessed Virgin Mary is here! May is here—and it’s Mary’s month. It’s such a beautiful time to slow down and reflect on her life. I’ve been thinking about how Mary lived with so much love, patience, and deep trust in God... and how much I need that reminder in my own day-to-day mom life. So here’s my little challenge to you (and to myself): let’s turn to Mary in prayer this month. Ask her to walk with you, guide you, and give you the grace to show up with love—even on the messy, hard days. She gets it. And I truly believe she wants to be right there with us as we love and lead our families. You’re not alone in this sacred work."

Continued Easter Blessings!

Cleanup of Poplar Street
The Care for Creation Team recently “adopted” a portion of Poplar Street (from W. Walnut Street to Mill Street) through the Keep Carbondale Beautiful (KCB) program. This means that, for one hour once a month, we will be cleaning up litter along our adopted section of Poplar, with trash bags and litter grabbers provided by KCB. Not only does litter reduction serve an environmental purpose, but it can also reduce crime and signal the parish’s commitment to our most immediate neighbors and the broader Carbondale community. In order to maintain Poplar Street, though, we need help.

This coming Saturday, April 18, from 9:30am-10:30am, the Care for Creation Team will be holding an all-parish cleanup of Poplar Street. Please consider joining us for one hour. All cleanup supplies will be provided, and people of all ages and mobility are welcome. If you are interested, please assemble in the south church parking lot (off of Poplar) at 9:25am.

Fr. Bill Spencer will be the presider. Bring an appetizer or dessert to share and your own beverage.
