If you see someone advising you while speaking angrily, do not interrupt them. Sometimes behind that anger is a great love and concern for you.
Do not be like the person who broke the alarm clock because it woke him up in the morning.

Summary of the Friday Khutbah (Sermon) today; Titled: The Harvest of the Tongue and the Danger of Words

Mu’adh ibn Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
I said, “O Messenger of Allah, tell me about a deed that will admit me to Paradise and keep me away from Hell.”
He said, “You have asked about something great, but it is easy for the one whom Allah makes it easy for: Worship Allah alone and associate nothing with Him, establish prayer, give zakah, fast Ramadan, and perform Hajj.”
Then he said, “Shall I guide you to the gates of goodness? Fasting is a shield, charity extinguishes sins as water extinguishes fire, and a person’s prayer in the middle of the night.”
Then he recited the verses: “They forsake their beds and call upon their Lord in fear and hope…”
Then he said, “Shall I tell you about the head of the matter, its pillar, and its highest peak?”
I said, “Yes, O Messenger of Allah.”
He said, “The head of the matter is Islam, its pillar is prayer, and its highest peak is striving in the cause of Allah.”
Then he said, “Shall I tell you what controls all of that?”
I said, “Yes, O Messenger of Allah.”
He took hold of his tongue and said, “Control this.”
I said, “O Prophet of Allah, will we really be held accountable for what we say?”
He replied, “May your mother grieve over you, Mu’adh! Are people thrown into the Fire on their faces—or on their noses—for anything other than the harvest of their tongues?”

Dear brothers and sisters,
One of the greatest blessings Allah has given us is the ability to speak. Yet the tongue is one of the most dangerous parts of the human body. It is small in size, but its impact is enormous.

In this hadith, Mu’adh ibn Jabal asked the Prophet ﷺ about a deed that would lead him to Paradise and keep him away from Hell. The Prophet ﷺ mentioned the pillars of Islam and many good deeds. Then he concluded with something very important. He held his tongue and said:
“Control this.”
This teaches us that many acts of worship can be damaged by careless speech. A person may pray, fast, and give charity, yet destroy much of his reward because of what he says.

Mu’adh was surprised and asked:
“Will we really be held accountable for what we say?”
The Prophet ﷺ answered:
“Are people thrown into the Fire because of anything other than the harvest of their tongues?”

This means that many people enter punishment because of the sins they commit with their speech.
How many families have been broken by harmful words?
How many friendships have ended because of gossip?
How many hearts have been hurt by insults and mockery?
Allah says:
“Not a word does a person utter except that an observer is ready to record it.”
Everything we say is being recorded.
Among the major sins of the tongue are:
* Lying
* Backbiting
* Gossip and spreading rumors
* Insulting others
* Mocking people
* False testimony
* Hurtful speech

In our time, the danger is even greater because words are not only spoken. They are also written in text messages, emails, comments, and social media posts. We are accountable for all of them.

Dear believers,
The wise Muslim thinks before speaking. He asks himself:
“Will these words please Allah?”
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever believes in Allah and the Last Day should speak good or remain silent.”

Some practical ways to protect our tongues are:
1. Remember that Allah is always watching us.
2. Think before speaking.
3. Increase in the remembrance of Allah and reading the Qur’an.
4. Stay away from gatherings of gossip and backbiting.
5. Review your words at the end of each day and ask Allah for forgiveness.

The righteous people of the past used to say:
“I have never regretted staying silent, but I have often regretted speaking.”

So let us protect our tongues, because safety is in controlling them, and destruction is in letting them run freely.
O Allah, purify our tongues from lying, backbiting, gossip, and harmful speech. Make our words a source of goodness, guidance, and remembrance of You.
Ameen.

It was said to a righteous man:
We never see you speaking badly about anyone.
He replied:
I am not satisfied with myself, so how can I spend my time criticizing other people?.

So Focus on your own faults, and do not concern yourself with the faults of others.

Mutual Respect:
Respect is one of the most beautiful gifts a person can give to others. Good manners cannot be bought or sold; they are a quality found in the hearts of those who were raised well. A poor person is not the one who has lost gold, but the one who has lost good manners.

This topic is very important for every Muslim.
*** Friday Sermon (Khutbah) Title:
The Will (Wasiyyah) in Islam: Its Rulings, Guidelines, and Consequences

** The Islamic will (wasiyyah) is an important part of Islamic law. Allah has prescribed it to protect people’s rights, fulfill the wishes of the deceased in a lawful way, and allow a person to continue doing good even after death.

** What Is a Will in Islam?
A will is a person’s instruction that certain property, money, or benefits be given or used after their death.
For example, a person may say:
* “After I die, give $1,000 to this person.”
* “Turn this property into a charitable endowment.”
* “Donate part of my wealth to the poor.”

** The Legitimacy of the Will
The will is established by the Qur’an, the Sunnah, and the consensus of Muslim scholars.
Allah says:
“It is prescribed for you, when death approaches one of you and he leaves wealth, that he should make a bequest…” (Qur’an 2:180)
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“It is not proper for a Muslim who has something to bequeath to stay two nights without having his will written and kept with him.”

** The Ruling of a Will
The ruling differs according to the situation:
1. Obligatory
A will becomes obligatory when a person has:
* Debts that are not documented.
* Trusts or property belonging to others.
* Rights that must be clarified so they are not lost after death.

1. Recommended
It is recommended for someone who wishes to continue earning reward after death by supporting charitable causes, the poor, or beneficial projects.

1. Permissible
It is permissible when it concerns lawful matters without a specific religious purpose.

1. Disliked
It may be disliked if the person’s wealth is limited and the heirs are in financial need.

1. Forbidden
It is forbidden if the intention is to harm the heirs or support sinful activities.

** How Much Can Be Given in a Will?
A will may not exceed one-third of the estate unless the heirs approve after the person’s death.
The Prophet ﷺ told Sa’d ibn Abi Waqqas:
“One-third, and one-third is much.”
Therefore:
* Less than one-third is allowed.
* One-third is allowed.
* More than one-third requires the heirs’ approval.

** Can a Will Be Made for an Heir?
In general, a will cannot be made in favor of someone who is already entitled to inherit according to Islamic inheritance laws.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“There is no will for an heir.”
An exception is when all other heirs agree after the person’s death.

** Conditions for a Valid Will
Conditions Related to the Person Making the Will
* Must be mentally competent.
* Must act voluntarily.
* Must own the property being bequeathed.

** Conditions Related to the Beneficiary
* Must be a valid person or charitable cause.
* The purpose must be lawful.

** Conditions Related to the Property
* Must be lawful property or benefit.
* Must be transferable after death.

** When Is the Will Carried Out?
After a person’s death, the estate is handled in the following order:
1. Funeral and burial expenses.
2. Payment of debts.
3. Ex*****on of the will.
4. Distribution of inheritance to the heirs.

**?Difference Between a Will and Inheritance

will: Based on the person’s choice
Inheritance: Determined by Allah
Will: Limited to one-third Inheritance: Covers the entire estate
Will: Usually not for heirs
Inheritance : Given to legal heirs
Will: Takes effect after death Inheritance: Rights begin at death

** Wisdom Behind the Will
Islamic wills:
* Allow good deeds to continue after death.
* Help relatives who do not inherit.
* Support the poor and charitable causes.
* Protect rights and obligations.
* Strengthen social ties.

** Benefits and Consequences

1- Positive Results
* Continuing rewards after death.
* Protection of financial rights.
* Fewer disputes among family members.
* Benefit for charitable and community projects.

2- Negative Results When Misused
* Family conflicts.
* Injustice toward heirs.
* Delays in distributing the estate.
* Sin from intentionally harming others.

** What Should a Muslim Include in a Will?
It is recommended to include:
* A declaration of faith.
* Advice to fear Allah and remain obedient to Him.
* A list of debts and obligations.
* Instructions regarding important responsibilities.
* Guidance for family members to remain steadfast in Islam.

** Conclusion
The Islamic will is a great blessing that balances a person’s desire to continue doing good after death with the rights of the heirs that Allah has assigned to them. It protects rights, encourages charity, and helps maintain justice and harmony within families and society.

A relationship with God is the most comforting, the most secure, and the most honorable.

Whoever preserves God’s commands in their heart, mind, and all their affairs, God will protect them from every harm and every scheme.

God may protect you in ways you don’t even notice. He saves you from many traps and dangers.

There is no fear for hearts that are attached to God. God is with them and takes care of their affairs.

Everything you lose can be replaced, except your relationship with God—if you lose that, no one can ever replace it.

Summary of Khutbah yesterday titled “Islam, Eman and Ihsan

Umar ibn Al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said:
“One day, while we were sitting with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, a man appeared before us. His clothes were extremely white, and his hair was very black. There were no signs of travel on him, and none of us knew him.

He sat close to the Prophet ﷺ, placing his knees against the Prophet’s knees and his hands on his thighs, and said:

‘O Muhammad, tell me about Islam.’
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
‘Islam is to testify that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, to establish prayer, to give zakah, to fast Ramadan, and to make pilgrimage to the House (Hajj) if you are able to do so.’
The man said:
‘You have spoken the truth.’
Then he said:
‘Tell me about faith (Iman).’
The Prophet ﷺ said:
‘It is to believe in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Last Day, and to believe in divine destiny, both the good and the bad of it.’
The man said:
‘You have spoken the truth.’
Then he said:
‘Tell me about Ihsan.’
The Prophet ﷺ said:
‘It is to worship Allah as if you see Him, and even though you do not see Him, He surely sees you.’
Then he said:
‘Tell me about the Hour.’
The Prophet ﷺ said:
‘The one being asked knows no more about it than the one asking.’
Then he said:
‘Tell me about its signs.’
The Prophet ﷺ said:
‘That a servant woman will give birth to her mistress, and that you will see barefoot, poorly clothed shepherds competing in building tall buildings.’
Then the man left.
After some time, the Prophet ﷺ said:
‘O Umar, do you know who the questioner was?’
I said:
‘Allah and His Messenger know best.’
He said:
‘That was Jibreel (Gabriel). He came to teach you your religion.’”

Dear brothers and sisters,

Eid al-Adha is one of the greatest days blessed by Allah. It is a day of joy, worship, and remembering Allah.

Some of the most important things we should do on this day are:

* Attend the Eid prayer and go early.
* Say a lot of takbeer and remember Allah.
* Offer the sacrifice (udhiyah) if we are able, and feed the poor and needy.
* Visit family and relatives and bring happiness to others.
* Stay away from sins, neglect, and missing prayers.

Dear believers,
The true Eid is the Eid of obedience and accepted deeds. So thank Allah for His blessings and increase in worship and remembrance of Him.

We ask Allah to accept our good deeds.
Eid Mubarak to you all.

And may Allah’s peace and blessings be upon Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his companions.

Eid prayer is at 7AM

05/26/2026

●● Sunnahs of Eid
1. Taking a shower (ghusl) before going to the Eid prayer
It was reported that Abdullah ibn Umar used to take a bath on the morning of Eid before going to the prayer place.
2. Dressing nicely and wearing the best clothes
The Prophet ﷺ used to dress nicely for Eid, and Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) had special clothing that he wore on Eid.
3. Eating before the Eid al-Fitr prayer
Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ would not go out on Eid al-Fitr until he had eaten some dates, usually an odd number.
[Narrated by Al-Bukhari]
4. Not eating before the Eid al-Adha prayer
It is Sunnah to wait until after the prayer and then eat from the udhiyah (sacrifice).
5. Walking to the prayer place
Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “It is Sunnah to go to the Eid prayer walking.”
[Narrated by At-Tirmidhi]
6. Going by one route and returning by another
Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) said that on Eid, the Prophet ﷺ would return using a different road.
[Narrated by Al-Bukhari]
7. Saying the Takbeer on Eid
For Eid al-Fitr: from sunset on the last day of Ramadan until the Eid prayer.
For Eid al-Adha: from Fajr on the Day of Arafah until Asr on the last day of Tashreeq.

One common form is:
“Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, there is no god except Allah. Allah is the Greatest, Allah is the Greatest, and all praise belongs to Allah.”
There are also other authentic forms of Takbeer.

8. Praying Eid in an open prayer area if possible
This is a Sunnah because the Prophet ﷺ used to pray Eid in an open area outside the Prophet’s Mosque.
9. Listening to the khutbah (sermon) after the prayer
Although it is not obligatory, it is a highly recommended Sunnah and contains much benefit.
10. Showing happiness and joy
These are days of eating, drinking, and remembering Allah, as mentioned in authentic hadith.
May Allah accept from us and from you
May Allah reward our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ with the best and greatest reward.
