I received this thought in an email and wanted to share it.

James 1: 2-4

My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

James teaches us to count the trials and hardships of life as meaningful rather than meaningless. In other words, trials and turbulence are not meant to be terminal in our lives. God reminds us that what we have faced, and what we will face, is not designed to devastate us but to develop us. He uses seasons of testing to train us for greater kingdom impact.

Sharing a word of care that I received this morning.

Psalms 46:10

Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth

To “be still” in the Hebrew sense is to let go, to relax, and to cease striving. It is an invitation to stop trying to bring things to pass in our own strength and to surrender fully to God’s perfect will. Psalm 115:3 reminds us, “But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.” Even when people attempt to manipulate the process, we can rest in the assurance that God remains sovereign and will ultimately make all things right in His time.

Due to the weather, we are moving our church picnic indoors to the church. We will still begin at 11:00 a.m. and will meet downstairs for a brief message, food, and fellowship. We hope to see you there!

I received this today and want to share.

Genesis 4:8 KJV

And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him.

Cain killed his brother Abel, thinking elimination would bring elevation. But he still wasn't accepted. Destruction doesn't lead to promotion. Pulling others down will never raise you up. And remember this: those who prey on you cannot silence the prayers of those who are for you.
