Today, as we celebrated the Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with joy and happiness, the congregation of Epworth is saddened by the fact that today was our last worship service together. Waco Epworth is closing its doors. I am blessed to have been able to serve this congregation for the last 13 years.

Welcome to our Easter worship service and thank you for viewing today's message entitled, "He Is Risen."

Easter Sunday is the ultimate declaration of victory. The resurrection of Jesus is proof that sin and death do not have the final word. God's plan from the beginning was to bring life where there was death and hope where there was despair. Today, we celebrate the living Savior who offers us new life and invites us into a relationship with Him forever.

Welcome to our March 29, 2026 worship service and thank you for viewing today's message entitled, "The King Has Come."

Palm Sunday is a celebration of Jesus' entry into Jerusalem as the King of kings. Yet, it also foreshadows His journey to the cross. The crowd shouted "Hosanna!" but would soon cry "Crucify Him!" This week, we’ll see how God’s plan for salvation was unfolding, even as the people misunderstood His mission. Jesus came not to conquer by force but to save through sacrificial love.

Welcome to our March 22, 2026 worship service and thank you for viewing today's message entitled, "From the Ashes - Resurrection."

The centerpiece of the Christian faith is the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The fact that Jesus rose from the dead gives hope to His followers that since death was defeated, then there is nothing that cannot be overcome. As believers, we identify with Jesus in His death by dying to our old self and being raised to new life.

Welcome to our March 15, 2026 worship service and thank you for viewing today's message entitled, "From the Ashes - Sacrifice."

The Hebrew people experienced the temporary forgiveness of sins by the blood of an animal sacrifice. The sacrifice of Jesus, to leave heaven and offer himself on the cross, was an atoning sacrifice that is effective throughout eternity. Through Christ we are completely redeemed from the ashes of our former life.

The wind yesterday took a tree down behind the church and it fell on the power line feeding the outside security lights. The church building itself does have power and we will be having worship service at our regular time Sunday, March 15th, 2026. Hope to see you there.

Confession is the process of recognition of sin, turning from it and experiencing the forgiveness of God. Having a regular practice of searching our lives and coming into the light can cultivate a life full of grace and mercy as we rise from the ashes of past sins and poor decision making in our lives.

Join us in worship at Mount Zion Community Church this Wednesday, February 18th at 4:30pm as we begin our Lenten journey with our Ash Wednesday service. Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of the Lenten season which is 40 days of repentance, reflection, and renewal, drawing us closer in faith to our Lord and leading to Easter Sunday and the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
