Jesus is the Source of Our Power

Matthew 18: 19-20 NLT

19 “I also tell you this: if two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my father in heaven will do it for you.”
20. “ For where two or more gather together as my followers, I am there among you.”

I like the clarity of the New Living Translation. In these verses, Jesus speaks to his disciples. He revealed how to power up in prayer. It is through an agreement between believers. Folks it is hard to get people to agree on the simplest action. Look at the condition of our present-day churches.

Verse 20 provides the key to our power source. Jesus is our power source, but he is only with his followers. To know how to be Jesus’ follower you must know what he stood for. Study the Sermon on the Mount found in Matthew 5: 1-7:29. Study the Gospels. The Savior has come and walked the earth. He left humanity the keys to a personal relationship with God. His obedience to God opened the door for the Holy Spirit. You have every tool available to live a life full of power and peace. It is up to you to go and get it!

Proverb 11:31 New Living Translation
If the righteous is rewarded here on earth, what will happen to the wicked sinners?

Righteous people make it their goal to live according to God’s laws, rules, regulations, and stipulations. We must stay connected with God in order to know his will. We do this through prayer and studying God’s Word!

The wicked sinners live as they please. They mistreat their fellow beings. They never concern themselves with the hurting. Everything is about them, and their pleasure.

The reward for the righteous is peace, in spite of trials. Joy in spite of challenges. Love in spite of imperfections.

Sinners may gain according to the World’s standards, but there is no peace, no joy, and no love.

The reward for righteousness is now!
The penalty for wickedness is now!

Upon rising this morning, these words were running through my mind, delay doesn’t mean denial. I have been asking God for something for many years. Each year that has passed made it seem as if my dream would never become reality. I have had to make peace with waiting on God. I accept that not yet does not mean no. God’s timing is perfect!

Thoughts are stimulated from 2 Corinthians 3:5. It is not that we think we are qualified to do anything on our own. Our qualification comes from God (NLT). We cannot complete any goal without God! The reasoning behind this belief is found in 2 Corinthians 12:9b, “ My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness (NLT).

Genesis 16:9-10 New Living Translation (NLT)

The angel of the LORD said to her, “Return to your mistress, and submit to her authority.” Then he added, “I will give you more descendants than you can count.”

My Brothers and Sisters, after reading these verses, I heard the word “Submission “, which is hard for many of us to do.

The Christian life is cemented by submission to any authority in your life, or to yield to the authority of another person:

Just like Hagar, the circumstances may be unpleasant, but God will bless you in immeasurable ways, for your obedience.
