Matthew 7:24-25 - 24 “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: 25 and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock.
You may or may not know that because I do a lot of hiking, I watch a lot of hiking & outdoor videos. However, recently, I have also begun to watch survival videos. You know like…, how to survive if you’re caught outdoors in a storm, how to build a fire or an emergency shelter in a storm, how to find food, water, etc.
While it’s all been kind of cool & great knowledge to have, I’ve actually been wondering why I’ve been drawn to those videos & learning about those things… Wondering, that is, until I started writing devotions for this month.
In the same way that we should prepare ourselves to survive difficult situations physically, should we not also do so spiritually?
Will we encounter spiritual storms as well as physical storms? Will we not, also encounter spiritual emergencies as well as physical ones? Will we not, also encounter difficult circumstances in our spiritual walks as well as our physical walks? The answer is – yes, we will!
God tells us in His word that 1st we need to hear His word (study His word) & then build ourselves on that word. And why? So that, when the storms of life come (& they will come – John 16:33); because we have built our faith on the foundation of God (sured up our faith), that when the winds blow & beat on us, that we will not fall!

Good Morning Sisters!

For we walk by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7 [NASB]

I would venture a guess that this passage of scripture could run a close 2nd to John 3:16 as being the most recognized verse in the Bible.
When Paul penned these Holy Spirit inspired words he was not speaking to the unbelievers of that time period. He was speaking to the church in Corinth, many of whom had walked this earth the same time that Jesus did. Yet Paul was schooling this young new church on how to walk in and live out a life based on faith.
Sometimes that can be a hard thing to do! Just being honest here, Sisters! We are asked to put our trust in the unseen. We are asked to make reason of the unreasonable; to make sense of the unsensible, and to follow a Spirit led path that, in all respects, is far beyond all recognizable resources we might have. And yet, in all that appears to be unexplainable, this is exactly the ingredients and the definition of….faith! Our natural senses can't calculate the math so as to come out with a correct answer(s). We can exhaust an entire lifetime on this pursuit of trying to reason out God's call on our lives!
Faith requires our spiritual senses to override our natural senses. The trust and the knowing comes from within, not from without. Once that seed of trust (from Holy Spirit) has been planted within us, it is entirely up to each of us to nourish it and grow it. That and that alone will allow us to "walk by faith, not by sight".
Romans 10:17 in the AMPC tells us, "So faith comes by hearing [what is told], and what is heard comes by the preaching [of the message that came from the lips] of Christ (the Messiah Himself)."
This is pivotal, Sisters! Our faith is fortified and strengthened by what we hear/read. It does matter who we spend time with, where we direct our attention, and who we listen to. It matters to the umpth degree!!
Lester Sumrall is quoted as saying, "When you feed your faith, you starve your doubts."
Do you question if God hears your prayers? Feed your faith!
Do you wonder if that family member will ever come to know Jesus? Starve that doubt!
Does God still heal today? The answer is in His book!
As we feed our faith and starve out the doubts, we begin to align ourselves with God's intentional purpose for our lives and the infinite goodness He has stored up for each of us.
Look up….Lift up….Sure up your faith today!

Lol, if you haven’t read your chapter for today, here ya go… & I do hope that you’ll read it…
Psalm 51:1-19
1 Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.
4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.
5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice.
9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.
14 Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.
15 O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise.
16 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.
17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
18 Do good in thy good pleasure unto Zion: build thou the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then shalt thou be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offering and whole burnt offering: then shall they offer bullocks upon thine altar.
I read something about the 51st chapter of Psalms. It said…
“David was a man after God’s own heart who also committed adultery and arranged a murder. If you have ever felt disqualified by your own failures, his story is worth sitting with.
Psalm 51 is what it looks like when a man stops hiding. “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me” (Psalm 51:10). What moved David forward was not self-determination. It was the mercy of God meeting him exactly where he had fallen.”
“This is what it looks like when a man stops hiding…” Wowsa!
After an adulterous relationship with Bathsheba, the murder of her husband, and the pregnancy and child that was born from the adultery; David, one of God’s greatest warrior kings in the Bible-when he got to the end of himself, there was God!
Oh, for the love of God, His grace, mercy, forgiveness, & restoration. Only a love like God’s can restore a soul. But here’s the deal about David… Had David done all that he did, if he hadn’t accepted (by faith), God’s forgiveness, David’s story would most likely have ended much differently.
As much as we receive salvation by faith, we accept God’s forgiveness for our sin, in the same way!
When we stop running from it (our sin) & accept God’s forgiveness, God steps in, to sure-us up in Him! Don’t hang onto sin. Don’t hide it or try to bury it – give it to Jesus & let Him turn the wrong into all of the right, that He has for you!

2 Peter 3:18 (ESV) - But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.
Grow (Strong’s Concordance): to cause to grow; to increase, become greater
Cause: action that produces an effect, result, or condition
Increase: to make or become greater in size, amount, intensity, or degree
This month we’re going to talk about ‘suring up’ our faith (growing & increasing). Interestingly, the first thing the Lord said to me about the phrase suring up our faith…
God: Sherry, notice the direction
Sherry: the direction?
God: Suring up
Sure: free from doubt, absolutely certain, reliable
God: only in Me is faith assured
And there it is… The only sure way to faith is sure is when faith is directed toward God (not around or not at the world). Wowsa! Way to start us off in the right direction Lord!
Looking forward to another great month of study & revelation from our great & awesome God!

Sunday, May 31, 2026. Good morning sisters.
Psalm 100:1-2 - Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.
Man oh man, another month of revelation from the Lord! Learning about God’s great creation & how everything in creation was created to sing praise to Him (including us, especially us).
Not a long devotion today, just an encouragement… Don’t stop – keep going! Never stop listening to the music of the earth. Joining in, leading praise to the Father.
Today is Sunday. You know what to do…

Saturday, May 30, 2026. Good morning sisters
I Corinthians 2:9 - But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
Two years ago today, our mother went home to be with the Lord. And like many of you that are missing your loved ones, so do we (me & all of our family). But, as much we miss her, if we could talk to her today, lol, I don’t think there’s a one of us, that could convince her to come back. And why do I say that? Because she’s with Jesus!
I cannot tell you how many times mom would get mad at us (me, my sisters, & family), because the Lord hadn’t brought her home yet. And one day, I even said that. I told her that I thought she was mad at God because He hadn’t brought to heaven yet (lol, that might have been a mistake). But this is what I know…
She was ready to go! Even though she could only imagine what it would be like, surely her imagination paled to what God had actually prepared for her.
So, as we’re winding down this wonderful month, talking about the beautiful music of the earth. God wanted me to remind that you… There is yet a home that awaits us all, that is so much, much more beautiful & it is filled with the blessings of the Lord.
Today, just a reminder… Don’t give up, don’t quit. Keep trusting God. Because as beautiful as the earth is, the reward God has planned for us all, is more than we can imagine!
2026’ Oh, the promise that awaits God’s children…

Job 40:15-19…
16 Look at Behemoth,
which I made along with you
and which feeds on grass like an ox.
16 What strength it has in its loins,
what power in the muscles of its belly!
17 Its tail sways like a cedar;
the sinews of its thighs are close-knit.
18 Its bones are tubes of bronze,
its limbs like rods of iron.
19 It ranks first among the works of God,
yet its Maker can approach it with his sword.
Behemoth: A creature, organization, or thing that is enormously large and astoundingly powerful.

Many Creationists, use this biblical passage & others like it, to defend the time period of the dinosaurs. However, what the passage & quote by Kathleen Dean Moore proves to me is…How can the world of science hold just to their theories of creation, when the earth & everything in it, show us the hand of our Creator, that greater than anything in existence (including the theories of ‘Big Bang, Evolution, etc.).

Thursday, May 28, 2026. Good morning sisters
Did you know that one of the loudest birds on the planet is the white bellbird (Procnias albus). Here’s a little bit about it…
“At 125 decibels (dB), a sound that is painfully loud. This level is right at the threshold of physical pain for human ears and poses an immediate risk of permanent hearing damage without proper ear protection.
What it sounds like…
This volume is comparable to:
A chainsaw running at close range A pneumatic jackhammer or rock drill
A loud rock concert or a roaring car horn A military jet engine takeoff from a distance”
Info from: https://www.google.com/search?q=what+is+the+loudest+bird+in+the+world
While we would definitely not like it, if this bird nested right outside our windows, I got to thinking about why God would give such a small bird, such a colossal voice. Why? For communication & attraction! Undoubtedly, we wouldn’t mistake hearing it, & specifically for this species, their voice is used to attract a perspective mate.
Attraction: the action, power, or force of drawing objects or individuals together
While nature has its way, God has another…
I Kings 19:11-17 - 11 The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.” Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountains apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. 12 After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.
Isn’t it amazing that while the God that created the white bellbird (that has an ear shattering call), that He doesn’t speak to us that way? Isn’t it amazing that as powerful as the God is, that created the wind that can tear apart mountains, earthquakes, & fire; that when He comes to us, He speaks to us ever so softly, ever so gently, & ever so lovingly…
Although I hear people say it all the time-that they can’t hear God speak. Maybe the truth is more like, we can’t hear Him, because we’re not quiet enough to hear Him (not listening close enough or close enough), to hear Him when He speaks.
Oops! Did I really, just say that out loud? OUCH!
Take a walk in nature today & listen for the God that created it!

When you were a kid, did you ever hear the song ‘If you’re happy & you know it…’
If you’re Happy & you Know it (lyrics)
If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands
If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands
If you're happy and you know it
Then your face will surely show it
If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands
If you're happy and you know it, stomp your feet
If you're happy and you know it, stomp your feet
If you're happy and you know it
Then your face will surely show it
If you're happy and you know it, stomp your feet
If you're happy and you know it, shout hurray (hurray)
If you're happy and you know it, shout hurray (hurray)
If you're happy and you know it
Then face will surely show it
If you're happy and you know it, shout hurray (hurray)
If you're happy and you know it, do all three (hurray)
If you're happy and you know it, do all three (hurray)
If you're happy and you know it
Then your face will surely show it
If you're happy and you know it, do all three (hurray)
Song lyrics from: https://www.google.com/search?q=if+you%27re+happy+and+you+know+it
I decided that I was going to find out who wrote this song, because surely someone with this much joy is a Believer, right? So, you know me, I googled it…
“"If You're Happy and You Know It" is a traditional children's nursery rhyme. The original author is unknown, but scholars link the melody to a 1938 Soviet song called "Molodejnaya." The rhyme was officially copyrighted in 1971 by Joe Raposo, but it remains an anonymous folk song.”
Info from: https://www.google.com/search?q=who+wrote+the+song+if+you%27re+happy
Anonymous? How can that be? I was sure I’d find out some remarkable story about the reason for so much joy! Hmmm, I guess maybe that part will remain a mystery. But, the reason doesn’t have to be, does it?
Philippians 4:4 - Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.
Get this…, when Paul wrote the book of Philippians he was in prison! How could anyone be so joyful while in prison? Well, this isn’t the only time, Paul did that…
Acts 16:25-26 - 25 And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them. 26 And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.
Is every day a happy, happy, happy day? Well…, that’s the part that’s up for interpretation. Meaning, you decide… But, here’s the deal about that, if Paul, after being beaten & thrown into the deepest, darkest, lowest parts of the prison for sharing the Gospel… Who was most likely injured & bleeding from the beating he took, was most likely also sitting in sewage (because the sewage normally ran through the lower levels of the prison). And if Paul could find a reason to sing & praise God…
Psalm 69:24 - Let the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and everything that moveth therein.
Walk outside your door at anytime during the day or night & you’ll hear the world around you praising God. And if the heavens & the earth are praising Him, then shouldn’t we?
Just a reminder today, no matter what your circumstance, we have ever reason to give God praise & no reason not to!
2026’ Be happy & let the world know it! Praising God, because even on our worst days, He is still on the throne!
Ps… I hope this song gets stuck in your head today & you sing, sing, sing!

Tuesday, May 26, 2026. Good morning sisters
Ecclesiastes 12:14 - For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.
Last night, Jim & I sat outside for a while enjoying the evening. As I looked around, a thought occurred to me & I started to wonder how God will judge the works of man, when it comes to the instruction He’s given us, concerning this planet.
And no, before you say it or think it, I’m not a tree hugger or a member of Green Peace. But I was thinking about in Genesiss when God blessed man & gave us dominion over the earth (Genesis 1:26), & how He also charged man with its care (Genesis 2:15). So if asked by God, how do you think we’ve done? Have we really done our best for God?
I Corinthians 4:2 - Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
I know this is a silly, silly, comparison, but when I was a kid, my mom used to scold me because I had a bad habit of swallowing my gum. So, she told me that if I swallowed my gum that my body wouldn’t be able to digest it for years. And yes, lol, I know she just said that to whig me out with images of great big balls of undigested gum inside of me (so I’d stop swallowing my gum). But then again… I wonder what the world might think of everything we’ve caused it to swallow & how it has affected our environment…
Lol, and probably, right about now, you might even be thinking ‘man oh man, Sherry, is really losing it.’ And well, the verdict might still be out on that one. But I do find myself wondering what God thinks about of the stuff we say & do. And why? Because I know that all that we say & do matters to Him.
So, just a thought & and encouragement… What if, the next time we think about rolling down the car window to throw out a piece of trash-that we don’t. Or what if the next time we’re walking along & see a piece of trash on the ground-& that we do-pick it up. Because God gave us a beautiful, beautiful place to live & all He asks is that we take care of it! And as servants of God, we should care about all of His commands!
So…, lol, not an Earth Day message, just a reminder that all that God asks us to do, matters!
2026’ The world is a beautiful place. Let’s keep it that way & honor the God that created it!
