St. Peter's Church of Canton

St. Peter's Church of Canton Very Reverend Dr. David M. Misbrener, D.Min. - Pastor St. Peter Roman Catholic Church is a parish of the Diocese of Youngstown in Canton, Ohio. Now St. The St.
(14)

Founded in 1845 to minister to the needs of the growing German-immigrant population of Canton and the surrounding areas, St. Peter flourished in the 19th and early 20th Centuries, spurring the founding of a parish school in 1860 and the construction of a new, beautiful church in 1879. Remodeled several times in the preceding decades, this historic edifice continues to house the beautiful liturgies

of the St. Peter Parish community. Though we are no longer considered an "ethnic parish" St. Peter still remembers its germanic origins. Peter's is a very diverse congregation, serving the pastoral needs of rich and poor, young and old, and people of many nationalities. Peter School, suitably located in beautiful Downtown Canton, provides a premier education to its students, who come, not only from St. Peter Church, but also from many of the surrounding parishes and the local neighborhoods. Our mission to carry on the work of Jesus Christ and to bring the Gospel to people in every corner of the world is a touchstone of the parish life. From the Parish Assistance Program and Christian Witness ministries of the parish to the spiritual, liturgical, and educational formation of all of our parishioners, we perform every function, gifted by God, and in His service, in order to bring others in closer communion with Him and each other. Please, consider visiting us and joining us for a Celebration of the Liturgy. We would be happy to welcome you among us! May God be with you!
