MY FAITH NEWS | Pope Leo XIV appoints Knights of Columbus leader to Vatican dicastery.

Pope Leo XIV has appointed Dr. Patrick E. Kelly, Supreme Knight of the Knights of Columbus, as a member of the Vatican’s Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life.

The Holy See Press Office announced the appointment on Tuesday, August 25.

Kelly, who has served as Supreme Knight of the Knights of Columbus since 2021, leads the world’s largest Catholic fraternal organization, which has millions of members across several countries.

The Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life is responsible for promoting the life and vocation of lay faithful, supporting families and encouraging young people to actively participate in the life and mission of the Catholic Church.

As a member of the dicastery, Kelly will contribute to the Vatican’s work concerning the laity, family life and young people.

The appointment adds to Kelly’s responsibilities in his leadership of the Knights of Columbus, whose members are involved in charitable, faith-based and community initiatives worldwide.

Tonight was our assembly annual steak 🥩 fry dinner. We had a great turnout of members and priests. It was held at St Michael’s Catholic Church in the Father Don King Pavilion.

Ohio District 1 Held a 4th Degree Ceremony at St Joseph’s Catholic Church in Canton Ohio yesterday. We welcomed 17 new Sir Knights.

Today, we were presented a Mayor’s Proclamation to both Monsignor Edward P Graham Assembly 828 and Holy Martyrs Canton Council 4733 along with our regular volunteers for our downtown litter cleanup efforts in The City of Canton, Ohio.
