Do you ever relive conversations that ended a long time ago? Give it a read, give it a rest. Shabbat Shalom!

The Torah reminds us that the Jewish connection to the Land of Israel didn't begin in modern times. It's one of the oldest themes in our tradition.

Give it a rest. Give it a read.

This week we look at a verse that describes a day marked by the sounding of the shofar. Long before it became Rosh Hashanah, it was simply a call to wake up, pay attention, and begin again. As we celebrate Independence Day and America’s 250th anniversary, that ancient shofar message still speaks to us. Freedom is more than having rights. It's also accepting responsibility for the kind of community and country we want to build. What are we being called to renew this year?

Join Rabbi Spitzer, the ba'al tekiah / master shofar artist, for the Shabbat service tonight.

Shabbat Shalom and Happy Independence Day. Give it a rest. Give it a read.

Have you ever snapped at someone and later realized you weren't angry, you were exhausted?

In this week's Torah portion, Moses reaches a breaking point. After years of leading, listening, carrying burdens, and solving problems, he finally loses his patience. The Torah reminds us that even Moses wasn't superhuman.

This week, we'll explore what Jewish tradition teaches about burnout, renewal, and the importance of taking a break.

Give it a rest. Give it a read.

How do you measure success? By what you own? By your title? By your bank account? This week's Torah portion, Korach, offers different answer. God tells Aaron: "I am your portion and your inheritance."

What if the most meaningful things in life can't be counted in possessions at all? What if purpose, service, relationships, and sacred community are the real inheritance?

Join me this evening at Temple Israel for a S'mores Oneg Shabbat at 5:30 and our prayer service at 6:15.
