Pentecost Sunday is one of the spiritually hottest days of the year, a day of energy, passion, faithful imagination, and intercultural connection. It was a pivotal moment in the life of the early church, which is part of the reason that we’re celebrating with the “Tongues of Fire” Chili Cook-off after worship. Please join us for worship on Sunday morning at 10 a.m., followed by a delicious assortment of chili (and cornbread and garnishings) for lunch afterward!

We were blessed with six volunteers from the Canton Chamber of Commerce who helped out at church on Wednesday for the Chamber’s annual Community Impact Day. They accomplished a ton of work in just a few hours! Thank you again, friends!

This Sunday is the day on the liturgical calendar when we celebrate the Ascension of Jesus into heaven. During Eastertide we’ve seen Jesus come and go (in physical, bodily form only) a few times; for all of us who believe in Jesus as the Messiah, what does it really mean that Christ is in heaven and no longer walking around here on Earth? Please join us for worship, either in person or online, on Sunday morning at 10 a.m. as we think more deeply about that question.

The “mom energy” was really strong at church on Sunday. I met this little family in the Memorial Garden after worship, and I couldn’t help but admire the beautiful embroidery of the late Mrs. Harriett Wehrheim on our worship banner. She was a longtime devoted Geneva member, as well as mom to Louise, mother-in-law to Derek, and grandmother to Olivia and Jacob. 🩷
