was established in 2006 to provide couples a new alternative to the time-honored tradition of avowing love: matrimony. Reverend Jeffrey Witherspoon recognized that many organized churches and ministers were unable to perform marriage ceremonies when the couple was of mixed faith or lacked ties to a particular denomination. Many couples wishing to seal their commitment

to one another were turned away for various reasons; a fact that does not lessen the significance of their love and the desire to cement their bond.
