The Adult Bible Study group begins using Bible Studies for Life, a quarterly Bible study guide. Each evening we will be working on a section of the study guide in order to prepare for the actual Adult Bible Study group, which will take place on Sunday, September 6. Our first 6 sessions will be on "How God Speaks". Dedi Hannah will be leading these studies. Guides for parents to talk with their children about these studies may be found at BibleStudiesforLife.com/FamilyConnection. A weekly 20-minute podcast, "Bible Studies for Life Adults", may be found on your favorite podcast app.

The calendar is plenty full as well.
-September 2, 6:30 p.m., there will be a brief quarterly business meeting just prior to our weekly Wednesday evening discussion group.
-September 5, 12:00 noon, there will be a free community lunch in Fellowship Hall. I hear the menu will be beans and cornbread, with all the fixings.
-Early September, the Encouraging Word ministry will be leading the church in sending notes to several ministries, including a church in Salem MA, a missionary in Northern Ireland, and more.
-September 12, 9:00 a.m., those who want to go learn what is up-to-date on the Operation Christmas Child shoebox ministry will leave East Canton for a day trip.
-September 12, 4:00 p.m., is the monthly Women's Meeting in Fellowship Hall.

Feel free to join in any appropriate event. Everyone needs the Savior, Jesus Christ; so all are welcome. That includes you!

My name is Robert Cooper. I am a member of East Canton Baptist Church.

I learned about the Velora Bible & Sermon Notes app in Fall 2025. It was in Alpha release. All you could do was transcribe sermons. The transcripts were not very neat, but since this was AI, it was learning from the hundreds creating transcripts weekly.

I have been recording Adult Bible Study, Morning, and Evening Sermons. I now have a host of messages from January 18 until the present.

The transcriptions come with the real-time ability to read scriptures in our church's preferred version. Velora also suggests related scriptures in real time. In just a few minutes following the completion of a message, the transcript is available with pull quotes and outline headers. Prayers are set in italics. There is also a summary with key takeaways. The AI has the ability to produce discussion questions and to track what God has been saying to our church through our preachers and teachers.

That is what makes Velora so powerful for East Canton. Wednesday nights we meet to discuss what God said to us through that week's messages and what He has been saying to us throughout this year. Our goal is to not merely hear each message and promptly forget it. We want to remember what the Lord is saying to us and to put it into practice.

Velora has now been publically released. It would be nice if several of us were using the app. That way if I ever miss a message, there are others who can share and who can lead. Yes, this is a subscription app, but it is worth the price as our church is more obedient and faithful than at any time in the past 13 years that I have been at the church.

We've had some questions how long the free community hot dog and hamburger lunch will be going on today. It will run from 12:00 until 3:00. Bring friends, family, neighbors, and complete strangers. Oh, and bring your appetite.

For the children, the bounce house will be back.
