Finally have something to post. Haven't done art in a while. This started out as just an abstract that I didn't know what to do with. But today I turned it on its side so it was vertical and the outline of a woman dancing with hair flying showed up, complete with a head that had the two black eyes and the black mouth! So I put a layer of thin white within the outline and then some additional heavier strokes of white for motion. It also has sparkle gel on the dress but you can only see it from certain angles. I outlined it with some black and softened it. I call it FREE To Dance.

Part 2: more experimentation with inks and watercolor

08/28/2026

Checking different inks in different amounts of water on very thick paper. I tried recording the first group of ink by Higgins which is at the top of the page which showed up much better but the video didn't take. So I recorded the carbon black version below it.

Moved my watercolor and ink station to the electronic desk in my office.

Finally started painting some flowers with water, dropped In ink, then added watercolor and finally loose outline in ink.

08/24/2026

Playing with ink again only on top of existing watercolor or existing ink. Only used carbon ink this time with some really cool effects.

08/23/2026

Playing with three different new inks on watercolor paper and an old favorite. All different with different strengths and weaknesses. Which ones do you like the best?

08/22/2026

Tried the acrylic inks and India ink on watercolor paper, and tried applying it with less liquid so more woosh and less circles.

08/21/2026

Playing with watercolor. Multicolored pieces that bring me joy and give me a base which I can embellish. I love the bright colors and the balance of the colors even if they are just a simple swipe of color repeated and layered. Just adore applying water and color to paper.

Playing with dropping different inks in water on printmaking and watercolor paper. Pallet cleanser for before my next weaving project.
