Today marked the final day of Vacation Bible School, and we ended it with double blessings! A special thank you to Marcia Taylor and the Double Dutch Crew for taking us back in time with a fun-filled Double Dutch lesson for the children. Judging by the smiles and laughter, I think some of the adults had just as much fun as the kids! Thank you to everyone who helped make VBS 2026 a success.

đź“– Don't Judge a Book by Its Cover

Scripture: 1 Samuel 16:7 (KJV)
"For the Lord seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart."

We live in a world that often makes quick decisions based on appearances, titles, backgrounds, or past mistakes. Yet God reminds us that His vision reaches far beyond what human eyes can see. He specializes in finding purpose where others see problems, hope where others see failure, and greatness where others see limitations.

David was overlooked by his own family, but God saw a king. The woman at the well was rejected by society, but Jesus saw an evangelist. Peter was impulsive, but Christ saw the foundation of a movement. Their stories remind us that God's assessment is never based on appearances but on the condition of the heart.

Before you dismiss someone—or even yourself—remember that God is still writing the story. Every scar has a testimony. Every setback can become a setup for His glory. Extend grace before criticism, compassion before conclusions, and love before labels.

Today, choose to see people through the eyes of Christ. You may discover a masterpiece hidden beneath a cover the world failed to appreciate.

🙏 Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for looking beyond our flaws and seeing the purpose You placed within us. Forgive us for the times we have judged others by appearances instead of by love. Help us to see people as You see them with grace, mercy, and hope. Teach us to value the heart above outward appearances and to remember that You are still transforming lives every day. May our words and actions reflect Your compassion, and may we never underestimate what You can do through anyone who surrenders to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.

✨ Reflection:
Don't judge a book by its cover. God often places His greatest treasures in the packages the world overlooks.

A Fixed Fight
Scripture: Exodus 14:13-14
"The Lord shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace."

Some battles are never meant to be won by human strength. We exhaust ourselves trying to fix what only God can handle. We strategize, manipulate, defend ourselves, and depend on our own abilities only to discover that our greatest strength is found in surrender.

A fixed fight is one where God has already declared the outcome. The enemy may appear intimidating, the obstacles may seem impossible, and the pressure may feel overwhelming, but the victory belongs to the Lord. When God fights for you, your responsibility is not to control the outcome but to trust the One who already knows the end from the beginning.

Yielding is not weakness, it is worship. It is laying down our pride, our plans, and our need to be in control so that God's power can be fully displayed. Every time we choose faith over fear, dependence over self-reliance, and obedience over our own understanding, we position ourselves to witness God's miraculous hand at work.

Today, stop fighting battles that belong to God. Release the burden, trust His timing, and rest in His promises. The fight has already been fixed by the One who has never lost a battle.

Prayer:
Lord, teach me to surrender what I cannot control. Help me to trust Your strength above my own, Your wisdom above my understanding, and Your timing above my expectations. Thank You for fighting the battles I was never designed to fight. Today, I choose to yield to You, knowing that victory is found in Your presence. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Thought for Today:
"When you surrender your strength to God, you discover that His victory has been waiting for your trust."
