We all carry scars.

Some you can see.
Some you can’t.

In John 20, the risen Jesus appears to his disciples—and one of the first things he does is show them his hands and his side.

The wounds are still there.

Which is surprising, isn’t it?
You’d expect resurrection to erase them.

But it doesn’t.

Instead, those scars become the way the disciples recognize him.

And when Thomas finally sees them, he doesn’t just believe Jesus is alive—he recognizes that the one who stands before him is the same one who was wounded.

“My Lord and my God.”

Faith, it turns out, isn’t about having no doubts.
It’s about trust.

It’s about learning to lean your life on the One who still bears the marks of love.

We often want a version of faith that is safe and certain.
We want victory without wounds.

But Jesus offers something different.

He offers a wounded resurrection—
and a peace that meets us right where we are
and sends us back into the world to carry it forward.

The good news of Easter isn’t that scars disappear.

It’s that they don’t have the final word.

And we don’t carry them alone.

Palm Sunday looks like a celebration—but at its heart, it’s a prayer.

“Hosanna” means Save us now.

The crowd had an idea of what that salvation should look like.
Power. Victory. Immediate change.

But Jesus rides in on a donkey.

Not the salvation they expected…
but the salvation they needed.

And maybe that’s true for us, too.

What are you thirsty for?

Not just water.
Not just answers.
Not just for things to finally line up.

Beneath the thirst for clarity,
beneath the thirst for affirmation,
beneath the thirst for control…

there is a deeper question:

“Is the Lord among us or not?”

This Sunday we explored two stories of thirst—
Israel in the wilderness
and a woman at a well.

Both remind us that God often meets us
not with the proof we expect,
but with presence.

Sometimes the dry places
are where we discover
that God has been with us all along.

Big thanks to Mark Shadburn for our beautiful new choir platform! He added more room and a curve so we can hear each other better. THANKS, Mark!
