A few days ago, I was listening to the Word, and it was on the passage where the Israelites wanted a king and God chose Saul.

As I continued listening, I got a refresher on Saul and the Amalekites that I just can’t turn loose, so I’m going to share it with y’all.

By the time Saul received clear instructions from God to destroy everything, Samuel had already visited him several times with correction. And in those days, people weren’t always excited to see a prophet show up the way some people are now.

You would think Saul would have been trying to walk in step with God’s instruction.

DESTROY EVERYTHING.

No leftovers.
No trophies.
No keeping the parts that still looked useful or valuable.

But instead, Saul spared King Agag.

He kept what looked “good.”

And then he tried to offer it back to God like that would somehow make it obedience.

On the outside, it probably looked successful.

But Heaven was not measuring his activity.

Heaven was looking at his obedience.

“But Samuel replied, ‘Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obeying the Lord? To obey is better than sacrifice…’”

1 Samuel 15:22

That scripture reveals a right now reality.

It is possible to keep building, creating, launching, producing, and still slowly drift away from what God actually said.

That is the part that keeps me intentional about intimacy with God.

Not just whether something works.
Not just whether it is profitable.
Not just whether people applaud it.

But did God say it?

You’ve heard me write and teach about this before. We have been trained to think in terms of ROI.

Return on Investment.

How much did it make?
How fast did it grow?
How many people saw it?

But Heaven keeps bringing me back to ROO.

Return on Obedience.

Did God tell you to build that?
Did He tell you to keep carrying that?
Did He actually ask for all of that?

This is a huge part of the heartbeat behind Brand with Grace.

Not just helping people build brands.
Not just the process or method of journaling.

But helping people come back into alignment with what Heaven actually said.

Helping people slow down long enough to ask:

“Lord, what are You saying about this?”

Because I don’t just want God to see that I worked.

I don’t want to be busy building something that people marvel at but God rejects.

I want Him to see that I obeyed.

Obedience is one of the quickest ways to multiply fruit.

We’re delighted to share that Pastor Tasha Glover has released a new book and companion journal, Brand with Grace.

Brand with Grace is a Kingdom identity pathway for believers who sense there is more to their life than what they’ve been walking in and who deeply want to know who they are in God and what they were born for.

In the Brand with Grace book, Pastor Tasha helps readers:

Understand their Kingdom identity and mandate.

Recognize the messages God has placed in them and the people they are called to.

Learn how to build their life and assignments with God, by grace, instead of from pressure and copying others.

The redesigned 7x10 Brand with Grace Journal provides space to sit with the Lord, write what He is revealing, and respond to Him through reflection, prayer, and journaling.

If you are a believer who loves Jesus and is asking questions like:

“Who am I in the Kingdom, really?”
“Why was I born, and who am I sent to?”
“How do I walk this out with God in my everyday life?”
these resources were created with you in mind.

SERMON: Conquering the Spirit of Discouragement ✨🛡️
Message by Pastor Glover

SCRIPTURE FOCUS:
- Judges 6:12–16 (Gideon — called “mighty hero” despite fear) 📖
- 1 Kings 19:1–4 (Elijah — powerful yet vulnerable to discouragement) 🙏
- Ephesians 6:10–18 (Put on the full armor of God — stand firm) 🛡️⚔️
- Philippians 4:6–7 (Pray, don’t worry — receive God’s peace) 🕊️
- Colossians 3:2 (Set your mind on things above) 🔭
- (Referenced: rehearse past victories — David’s testimony) 🎯

Discouragement is a real spiritual tactic that attacks identity, vision, and faith during trials and delays.

God’s declaration about you is truer than your feelings — like Gideon, we are who God says we are before we feel it. ✨

Even spiritually powerful people (Elijah) can fall into fear; authority doesn’t make you immune — you need God’s encouragement. 🔄

Rehearse God’s past faithfulness, meditate on Scripture, and pray with thanksgiving to shift your focus from problems to promises. 🙌

Put on the armor of God daily — truth, righteousness, gospel readiness, faith (shield), salvation (helmet), and the Word (sword). Use faith and Scripture to quench doubt’s fiery darts. 🛡️📘

Worry fuels discouragement. Replace worry with specific prayer + gratitude; God’s peace will guard your heart and mind. 🙏

Seasons of delay may be preparation. Stay faithful and obedient — God is making a way out of no way. ⏳➡️🏆

PRACTICAL STEPS TO OVERCOME DISCOURAGEMENT

1. Rehearse testimonies aloud and in prayer.
2. Memorize & declare the listed scriptures when discouragement strikes.
3. Start each day by “putting on” the armor with short declarations.
4. When worry comes: write it down, pray specifically, then thank God as if He’s already answered.
5. Remain in community — share burdens, receive prayer, and follow up pastorally. 🤝
6. Counter generational discouragement with consistent prayer and Scripture declarations.

INVITATION
If discouragement has stolen your peace, join us for prayer, ministry, and community. Let’s rehearse God’s victories together and stand firm in faith. ❤️
