🐾 Pet Blessing at St. Joan of Arc! 🐾

Join us this Saturday, October 3rd at 11:00 AM as Fr. Bryan leads our annual Pet Blessing!

The blessing is a beautiful way to thank God for the gift of our beloved animals and to ask for His protection and care over them. ❤️🐶🐱

We celebrate this tradition especially around the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals and the environment. St. Francis recognized God’s presence throughout creation and treated all of God’s creatures with great love and respect.

Bring your pets and join us in the grassy area behind St. Joan of Arc! We hope to see you and your furry, feathered, or four-legged friends there! 🐾🙏

THE HOLY GUARDIAN ANGELS | Oct 02

The Memorial of the Holy Guardian Angels, celebrated on October 2, honors the angels whom God entrusts with the care and protection of His people. Catholic tradition teaches that angels are spiritual beings created by God who serve Him and assist human beings on their journey toward salvation. The memorial reminds the faithful of God's loving and constant care through His heavenly messengers.

The belief in guardian angels is rooted in Sacred Scripture, which presents angels as God's servants and protectors. The Church teaches that each person has a guardian angel who watches over and guides them, helping them resist evil and remain faithful to God. This does not mean that people are free from suffering or difficulties, but that God's providential care accompanies them throughout life.

The memorial therefore invites Christians to trust in God's protection and guidance while remaining attentive to His presence in their lives. It also encourages the faithful to imitate the obedience and service of the angels by seeking God's will and helping others. Through the Holy Guardian Angels, the Church celebrates the comforting truth that God does not abandon His children but provides spiritual assistance as they journey toward Him.

O Holy Guardian Angels, guide us and protects us. Amen.
Send, O Lord, Holy Apostles into Your Church.

Churchgoing Catholic couples are the happiest married people in America, according to a new report from the Institute for Family Studies commissioned by FOCUS.

The study, “The Devout Difference: Religion, Marital Quality, and S*x Among Americans,” finds that spouses who attend church regularly report far stronger marriages than their secular peers. Seventy-nine percent of churchgoing Catholics and 74 percent of churchgoing Protestants say they are very happily married, compared with 66 percent of nonreligious husbands and wives.

Churchgoers are also 39 percent more likely to be married, and men and women rooted in both faith and marriage are more than twice as likely to say they are very happy.

Sociologist Brad Wilcox, a co-author of the report, said churchgoing Catholics and Protestants marry more, have more children, and divorce less than their secular counterparts. The happiest and most s*xually satisfied husbands and wives, the data show, are churchgoing Catholics.

Among regular churchgoers, 55 percent of Catholics and 45 percent of Protestants rate their s*x lives as excellent or very good — higher than nominal believers and those with no religion.

The report also describes a “faith-family paradox.” Catholic weddings have fallen 74 percent since 1970, and the public role of faith and family has shrunk. Yet the believers who remain are more likely to enjoy stable, happy homes. Couples who accept classic Catholic teaching on the permanence of marriage and openness to life are the most likely to be happily married.

In an age of loneliness and digital distraction, the authors conclude, faith and family are not nostalgia. They remain among the strongest supports for personal happiness and social well-being.

… please still come to Mass!

… please still come to Mass!

Children are not simply the future of the Catholic Church. They are part of the Church right now!

If your kids are loud, please still come to Mass.

If you’re running late because getting everyone dressed and out the door was a battle, please still come to Mass.

If your toddler won’t sit still, please still come to Mass.

If your baby needs to eat, please still come to Mass.

If your child asks questions at the least convenient moment, please still come to Mass.

If someone cries, drops a toy, or has to make their third trip to the bathroom, please still come to Mass.

If your child doesn’t know all the prayers, responses, or exactly when to sit, stand, and kneel, please still come to Mass.

If you feel like you spent the entire Mass managing your children and heard approximately 12% of the homily, please still come to Mass.

If Sunday morning feels messy instead of peaceful, please still come to Mass.

If you’re worried your children are distracting the people around you, please still come to Mass.

If your child has a disability or special needs, please still come to Mass.

Children do not learn how to be part of the Church by staying home until they can sit quietly. They learn by being here.

They learn the Sign of the Cross by watching us make it.

They learn the prayers by hearing us pray them.

They learn the Scriptures by hearing the Word of God proclaimed.

They learn reverence by watching us kneel.

They learn that Jesus is truly present in the Eucharist by seeing the love and reverence with which we approach to receive Him.

They learn that the Church is their home because we make room for them here.

The wiggles, whispers, crying babies, and little voices are not signs that children don't belong at Mass. They are signs that the Church is alive.

So bring the babies. Bring the toddlers. Bring the big kids. Sit in the front so the littles can see. Step out when you need to… but always come back in.

At Baptism, these children became members of the Body of Christ. They belong here. They need the grace of the sacraments, the example of their parents, and the love and patience of their parish family.

Children are not simply the future of the Catholic Church. They are part of the Church right now!
