Almighty God, we commend to your gracious care and keeping those who serve in our armed forces at home and abroad. As we remember this Memorial Day all those who sacrificed themselves for our nation’s ideals, defend with your heavenly grace all who risk themselves in these times; strengthen them in their trials and temptations; give them courage to face the perils which beset them; and grant them a sense of your abiding presence wherever they may be; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

This Sunday, May 24, is 🔥 PENTECOST! 🔥
If you look around on Sunday, you’ll notice the altar guild has switched things up. They have put away our Easter Paschal Candle reminding us of Christ as the light of the world and switched the colors to red. These are symbolic reminders that as Jesus ascended to the Father, he sent us the Holy Spirit. Red reminds of the Holy Spirit’s tongues of fire that descended upon the early apostles.
