The Foundation joins the African American community in celebrating Juneteenth!

"Freedom finally came on June 19, 1865, when some 2,000 Union troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas. The army announced that the more than 250,000 enslaved black people in the state, were free by executive decree." -National Museum of African American History & Culture

We're also pleased to share that two grants from the African American Community Fund have been awarded. The Payne Chapel AME Church received $4,000 to construct a pavilion to serve as an outdoor educational center and communal center, and Freedom Unlimited received $1,000 to support the Juneteenth event in Washington.
