Montmorenci has been a part of the Hominy Valley Candler community since March of 1857. We are a part of the Blue Ridge District and Hominy Valley Missional Network of the Western North Carolina Conference and the greater United Methodist Church. Our vision is that God will transform the lives of children and families when we share the hope and love of Christ with our community. Our purpose is to

know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, and make Him known through our worship, study, stewardship, love and service to His world. We are involved with many ministries in the Hominy Valley Missional Network as well as projects with the United Methodist Men, Women, and other non-profit ministries such as Congregations for Children, ABCCM and MANNA Foodbank of Asheville.

Join us this August for our new sermon series and corresponding Bible study, “Integrating Grief.” Grief is a reality we all face. It comes not only with the death of someone we love, but also through change, disappointment, transition, and the loss of what we once knew. Grief is not something we simply “get over” or leave behind. Instead, we learn to integrate it into our lives, honoring what we have lost while discovering how to continue living with meaning and hope. Join us on Sunday mornings for the sermon series and on Thursday mornings or evenings for the corresponding Bible study. You can sign up for the study using the Google Form linked below. We’ll begin the day with a Easter Sunrise Service at 7:00am, followed by breakfast together. Then, we’ll gather again for our traditional Easter celebration at 11:00am.

You are invited to tap into your creative spirit this evening as we gather at 6:30pm for "Creating Together: Practicing Lent with Our Hands." Each week we will explore a different hands-on activity while reflecting on the meaning of Lent, connecting prayer and creativity in a shared space of community. Tonight, we will be painting rocks and reflecting on what we gain and leave in the wilderness. All are welcome! And remember, no artistic experience is needed. Just a willingness to come, create, and reflect together.
